I've been meaning to ask you this, but what is the Italian cereal made out of finely ground corn meal? My father and husband used to make it and we called it porridge but I know there's another Italian name for it.
Would it possibly be polenta?

<quoted text>I can sympathize about you getting the flu in the hospital. After the birth of my oldest daughter, I got pnuemonia(sp) and had to go back in the hospital for a week. I kept telling the nurse I was cold and needed more blankets, but this hospital (the same one I had my procedure) staff has a bad reputation. Their customer service is null. One can get sicker in the hospital than any place else. That's why I like to get in and out, lol.
Yes. If my dear husband had been in a hospital that actually cared about anything except turnover, he would still be alive. I know that in my heart.

Yep! That's it. For the life of me, I could not remember the name and was surprised to find out it's made the same way and eaten as our porridge, lol.

Thanks, Louise. Going to make some tomorrow morning for breakfast.

I am so sorry to hear your husband passed. Yes, my mother passed in this hospital I was in too and my oldest son almost died there. I had him removed and taken up to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The stories behind my mother's passing and my son's close call are to painful to recount here, but suffice to say, I am frightened whenever I or any family member has to go there. We always visit in teams, never let them know when we're coming and stay in close contact with our family doctor. My family knows if something serious happens to me or their father, we've requested to be transferred to Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.

As an aside, while my husband was waiting for my surgery to end, he ran into a retired co-worker and close friend of mine who was awaiting her husband's heart surgery. She wasn't worried. He had had procedures done before. However, they ran into some problems and the operation was taking longer than expected. My husband and her kept company and she told him to tell me to give her a call, which I did the day after my release. Imagine my shock when she informed me he had passed. She said the operation was a success, but he experienced cardiac arrest and eventually passed once brought to his room.

I couldn't help but think if he had been at Jefferson, which has some of the best doctors in the East Coast, he might be alive instead of having something as serious as heart surgery at this hospital. I know there's a time appointed for us all, but still, errors, incompetence and plain out negligence sometimes comes into play and the result is unnecessary deaths.

Again, I am so sorry to read about your husband's passing.
