Much is made of 'swing states', but it's the national vote that decides US elections - and that's driven by economic sentiment Al Gore in 2000: only the fourth case in US history where a candidate, George W Bush, lost the popular vote but won the presidency.

The polls right now are irrelevant.

As always, it'll cone down to the economy. Despite the conservatives efforts to paint Obama as a radical, or a Marxist, most Americans don't buy into the fearmongering.

If unemployment is 8.2% or lower in October (in other words term ending down) Obama will win comfortably. If unemployment is 9% or higher, he's in big trouble.

Which means the rabid righties will have to keep rooting against America, for a while longer anyway.

But they don't see Obama's ace in the hole: there's still a HUGE amount of Stimulus funding to be spent this summer on infrastructure jobs.

Just as he shocked people in the primaries, the general, and by passing healthcare reform, I think Obama will pull another rabbit out of his hat and leave the GOP looking stunned and foolish.

They continue to underestimate him, at their peril.

good news:
PHOENIX, June 27, 2011 - President Obama has a slim to nothing chance of being re-elected President in 2012. With a current approval rating of 44% and disapproval of 49%, according to Gallup, Obama is making it easier and easier every day for his Republican challenger to beat him.
Here are two simple reasons why heíll be defeated in 2012.
Hope and Change?
Candidate Obama promised hope and change in 2008, but he didnít deliver on that promise. Instead we got the complete opposite.
Letís take a look back:
Change: Candidate Obama criticized the size of President Bushís deficit and promised to stop deficit spending if elected.
Fact: President Obama has quadrupled the size of the deficit and recklessly continues spending in the trillions.
Itís The Economy Stupid:
Barack Obama (Associated Press)
Bill Clinton said it best in 1992:ďItís the economy stupid.Ē
The economy is how Obama is going to lose his re-elected bid in 2012.
Unemployment is currently 9.1%. Historically, presidents do not get re-elected with unemployment over 7.2%.
The only exceptions were Franklin Roosevelt in 1936 and Ronald Reagan in 1984. However, unemployment was falling quickly towards the end of his first term, and by the end of his second term it was 5.3%.
Currently, analysts predict unemployment will be from 7.7% to 8.4% on Election Day 2012.
Not looking good for Obama.
Adding to the grim employment forecast, Americanís do not have confidence in Obamaís economic policy.

The White House only matters because Bush-style Republicans will appoint more Citizens United-shills to the Supreme Court.

Did you hear that fake Teabaggers are all going to support Romney????

It's time for the 99%ers to start to replace the Teabaggers.

Isn't it ironic how the Teabaggers NEVER want TAX RELIEF fot the 99%ers?

Those SOB's are making RECORD PROFITS and BONUSES while soaking Middle Class tax payers for handouts, bailouts, and tax credits.

What do they do with their money (unearned income)?

Those gluttonous Mammonites sit by the pool waiting for the dividend checks to arrive to shop at Tiffany & Co., suck down some oxycontin (SOMETIMES the GUILT is UNBEARABLE), then squirrel away their RECORD PROFITS and BONUSES in SECRET OFF-SHORE BANK ACCOUNTS, where it is laundered by and for the underworld for nefarious purposes, never the betterment of this world. Worst of all, those SOB's BUY our politicians with their LOBBYISTS and make MORE LAWS to ENRICH THEMSELVES. It's vicious cycle of GREED.

Those SOB's love war because they PROFIT from it, but want working class and Middle Class Americans to PAY for it, with blood, sweat, tears, and MONEY.

Teabaggers are HYPOCRITES! Those Bush holdouts in hiding are False Christians and Mitt Romney is their NEW LEADER!

Mitt Romney for President, of the Cayman Islands, 2012, NOT FOR PRESIDENT OF AMERICA!

November can't come fast enough. We have to get rid of this DO-Nothing CONGRESS and get some justice for We the People.

It's time for the 99%ers to start to replace the Teabaggers.

How much would you bid for the White House when it goes up for foreclosure? Soon Obama won't be able to print any more money and when that happens, who knows? Will Greece have to sell it's islands? It's happening over there. It could happen here.

According to the U.S. Constitution the popular vote of each state will determine who that states electoral college delegates will vote for President. The total national vote is accademic.

When Obama was sworn in Unemployment was lower then 7%, and right away it went to 8, and then to 9, and was above 9% for 31 months. If unemployment is higher then 7% Nov. 1st, Obama loses. It is the ECONOMY stupid. It has always been the economy, and Obama is a loser where the economy is concerned. Everyone one knows someone not working, and the longer they have been unemployed the more difficult it is to find work.
