Much is made of 'swing states', but it's the national vote that decides US elections - and that's driven by economic sentiment Al Gore in 2000: only the fourth case in US history where a candidate, George W Bush, lost the popular vote but won the presidency.

EDIT above: fascist

If in doubt, ask yourself what programs for the people are republica's putting forth? None. Only ways to diminish workers such as union busting through ALEC, and massive cuts for everyone, EXCEPT THE RICH.

The problem with your silly statement is the fact that the ONLY places employment is going down are the red states and the recent states electing a republican governor. Everyone in the nation knows this and also knows nobama hasn't got anything to do with it.

Yes, if the dow keeps going up, and unemployment really was going down, but unfortunately according to the CBO Obama is lying about the numbers. They say Unemployment is 10%, not 8.6% like O wants us to believe. Americans are tired of the lying

Meanwhile, back in the real world....
(We're considering WI a 'red' sate at this point, btw)
The number of Americans filing first-time unemployment benefit claims fell to nearly a four-year low last week, but the number of initial claims in Wisconsin continued to increase.
Nationally, jobless claims dropped by 12,000 to a seasonally adjusted 367,000 in the week ended Jan. 28, the U.S. Labor Department said today.
The four-week average of claims fell by 2,000, to 375,750. The monthly average remains near a four-year low and stands at a level that usually suggests a healing labor market.
However, the initial claims in Wisconsin surged last week to 15,045 from 13,957 in the previous week, according to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
The number of ongoing weekly claims in Wisconsin rose last week to 126,212 from 123,620 in the previous week.

unprincipled, morally corrupt

This pretty much describes just about every president we've had in the past 50 years.

Moderator: what is your name?

Obumbala: um,er,aw,hum,haw

10 year old grand daughter: why does the president talk so funny?

good news:

PHOENIX, June 27, 2011 - President Obama has a slim to nothing chance of being re-elected President in 2012. With a current approval rating of 44% and disapproval of 49%, according to Gallup, Obama is making it easier and easier every day for his Republican challenger to beat him.

Here are two simple reasons why heíll be defeated in 2012.

Hope and Change?

Candidate Obama promised hope and change in 2008, but he didnít deliver on that promise. Instead we got the complete opposite.

Letís take a look back:

Change: Candidate Obama criticized the size of President Bushís deficit and promised to stop deficit spending if elected.

Fact: President Obama has quadrupled the size of the deficit and recklessly continues spending in the trillions.

Itís The Economy Stupid:
Barack Obama (Associated Press)
Bill Clinton said it best in 1992:ďItís the economy stupid.Ē
The economy is how Obama is going to lose his re-elected bid in 2012.
Unemployment is currently 9.1%. Historically, presidents do not get re-elected with unemployment over 7.2%.
The only exceptions were Franklin Roosevelt in 1936 and Ronald Reagan in 1984. However, unemployment was falling quickly towards the end of his first term, and by the end of his second term it was 5.3%.
Currently, analysts predict unemployment will be from 7.7% to 8.4% on Election Day 2012.
Not looking good for Obama.
Adding to the grim employment forecast, Americanís do not have confidence in Obamaís economic policy.
