Murder? Climate change is now killing 300,000 per year.

http://edition.cnn.com/2009/WORLD/europe/05/2...

If we're going to call out murderers, let's start with oil and coal companies funding propaganda to make this escalating catastrophe even worse, simply because they can profit in the short term.

"The findings of the report indicate that every year climate change leaves over 300,000 people dead, 325 million people seriously affected, and economic losses of US$125 billion. Four billion people are vulnerable, and 500 million people are at extreme risk."

I wonder how long before they blame the author Wendy Koch as part of the Koch Brothers.

Actually what they were comparing alarmist to was a nut case who had a very low carbon footprint living in a shack and typing his letters up on a manual typewriter.

I know the alarmist are not going to like this for no other reason than some are going to look at it and make the connection between between one group and a nut case. After all Ted was living the green lifestyle. As near zero Carbon as possilbe for someone still breathing.

And how many die from auto accidents? How many die from conflicts. How did they decide who qualified as dying from climate change.

Also the people who produced that report must of pounded it out quick considering they had to shut down do to lack of funds in 2010

Lets also compare the number you presented to the number of traffic deaths last year which was 1.2 million.

Soryy Northie, but a group who not only had an agenda but one that generated so little interest that it ran out of money is a sign that climate change isn't the big issue it once was.

dubious at best. are you saying the "CHANGE" killed people, or simply "CLIMATE" did? because climate kills every year and always will. there is no possible way a scientist could [honestly!] make such assertions.

Although the truth is that "CLIMATE" has never killed anyone, weather is the killer.

I'm not saying. A blue-ribbon panel of experts is.

Specifically, they're saying that high and rising numbers are dying primarily from increasing drought and crop disruptions.

Which you'd know if you bothered to read past the headline, as unlikely as that may be.

The free-market Heartland Institute has moved to contain the damage from explosive revelations about its efforts to discredit climate change and alter the teaching of science in schools, claiming on Wednesday it was the victim of theft and forgery.

In its first detailed response to Tuesday's leak of documents purporting to show a well-organised campaign to cast doubt on climate change, the institute warned in a statement posted on its website: "Some of these documents were stolen from Heartland, at least one is a fake, and some may have been altered."

However, the statement from Heartland communications director, Jim Lakely, identifies only one of the eight documents posted online on Tuesday night by the DeSmogBlog website as a "total fake". That document, two pages headlined "Confidential Memo: Heartland Climate Strategy", largely duplicates information contained in the other documents.

Those documents containing details on future projects such as a $100,000 campaign to "dissuade teachers from teaching science", as well as fundraising efforts have been confirmed, in part, by Heartland itself, corporate donors such as Microsoft, and climate sceptic blogger Anthony Watts, who hoped to benefit from Heartland fundraising this year.

DeSmog, in its response to Heartland's charges, stood by its initial report.

"DeSmogBlog has received no direct communications from the Heartland Institute identifying any misstatement of fact in the "Climate Strategy" document," it said.

Only a AGW Cultist would use Desmogblog (funded by a Criminal, John Lefebvre)

"The DeSmogBlog team is especially grateful to our founding benefactor John Lefebvre, a lawyer, internet entrepreneur and past-president of NETeller, a firm that has been providing secure online transactions since 1999. John has been outspoken, uncompromising and courageous in challenging those who would muddy the climate change debate, and he has enabled and inspired the same standard on the blog."

John Lefebvre, the Money Man behind DesSmogBlog, after being charged by the FBI with Money Laundering and who PLEADED GUILTY to charges of "conspiracy to conduct illegal Internet gambling transactions" is the one who "has enabled and inspired the same standard on the blog".

Did you get that..."has enabled and inspired the same standard on the blog" ???

HAHAHA....HAHAHA....that SAYS IT ALL about DeSmogBlog....ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS!

Of the 7 bn people on planet Earth, approximately 6 bn of them are relatively poor, 1.25 bn live in poverty, so what else could be expected, other than mass death?

And who decided that they were a blue-ribbon panel of experts. From your own post which claimed that people are dying from droughts. Are they dying in any greater numbers or percentages? If I was to go back two thousand years I would find people dying from droughts and crop disruptions.

If anything I could point out that many who are dying from crop disruptions are dying because more crops are being funneled into ethanol instead of food production. Which would mean a simpler answer is to stop the madate to add it to fuel.

World population is increasing rapidly also, if you haven't noticed.

There are more poor people now than there were in 1950.

But less people are dying from extreme weather than at the turn of the 20th century, when only 1.6 bn people lived on Earth.

Since "steenking piddling diddling middling mudling mudslinger dirtling" isn't one of the poverty stricken, he's fine with the stats.

Everyone has already decided that Global Warming is a hoax. There are just as many Scientists that say it is not real, as ther are that say it is real. There are memos from those who pushed it, laughing about how stupid the believers were for accepting the theory, without proof. It is a scam, and now the joke is on the believers.
