Exactly, "rose tornell"! Robert Plant is unique, there is no other...

OK I read most of the stuff here and here is a repeat from another post. Sorry to those that will have read it twice...

Personally I think that Robert Plant can't sing like Robert Plant anymore and that may be the real reason he does not want to go on tour. Even in the 70's he has had issues hitting the high notes. Remember "The Song Remains the Same" Live album? Even then he was forced into another register. That was 1973!

Bully for Plant. Good for him. He is a free man and can do whatever the heck he wants.

I'm quite looking forward to a new frontman. Remember "Coverdale and Page" album? There were 3 awesome songs off that.

I think having JPJ back, and with Jason on drums will bring about the creative juices for new punchy material. Plant would only bring them down. Remember "Walking into Clarksdale" ??? What a piece of crap!!! Page and Plant mailed that one in. And all that East Indian stuff they did was another ruse for Plant to mask his poor vocal range. New Zep configuration can do quite well without Plant bringing them down figuratively and literally.

Foreigner has done a fantastic job with their recruitment of a replacement singer...hmmm Jason Bonham plays (played?) for them. Maybe Page saw what was going on with Foreigner and Bonham and thought, geez that really ain't that bad.

So, I'm really looking forward to whatever they come up with. I heard on FM radio that the frontman from a band calling themselves, "Altered Bridge" will be the lead vocalist?

any truth to that?

Yes... and if that's where it's at with Plant then like you said "good for him" because he is thinking about the band. I take a more cynical view that he doesn't give a rats ass because he has some success (if you translate success into $$$) on his own and doesn't really need zep.

If he was poor I can bet he'd be cashing in...

He has no loyalty to the band and so why should the band have loyalty to him? I'm not asking you this, but there is the ineviteable dipshitt that will ask where the loyalty is with Page and wrongfully place the burden on him.

I can remember what your talking about when rumors were that Plant was using a vocal synthesizer on TSRTS to hit the high notes... I don't know how much truth to that there was and I don't really care, but your point is well taken that he has always had a fickle voice that needs pampering.

I did love some the bootlegs that have his voice just PERFECT at times... he was great at times and could be good still, but he doesn't want to work on it. Whatever the case is... if he could pull it off at the 02 show then there are no excuses.

Plant has pussied out...

couldn't agree more...except...it's all 4 of them
thats what the whole idea of the symbols were on the LP's...they're undying loyalty to eachother forever
without plant I have no prob with page touring
but it should never be called Zeppelin !!!
That's all !
You're right "SPARTACUS". It must not be called Zeppelin again without the same people on the band...

But I formed the band with my own money and fame... I gave you your big break and now you won't sing for me and you don't want me to use the name? WTF is wrong with you? Where's the loyalty? Where the payback?

and infinately more talented. i mean WHAT in gods name did plant contribute besides his personality,a passable janis joplin impersonation and hip huggers with a natural codpiece? Im talking about sound here. content. its true that rock n roll is also about image and attitude in a big way but at this stage of the game, the whole "raw angry teenage sexuality" angle has to take a backseat to musicanship and skill right?.Not that palnt delivers much raw angry naughtiness anmore anyway. eewwww i just made muself ill.

Look we're getting snippy at a guy who no longer is in the game. At one time Plant was one hell of a vocalist, and a stage persona, there is no doubt! But he was that amazing vocalist and persona because he was working for and had the ablility to communicate the power of 3 other incredible artist he worked for. They made him, period. Without them he is a rather dull singer who needs talent around him to do anything of note. His current venture with AK sums up his solo stuff in one album. Get together with a musician who actualy has talent, then use Zep to remind fans of what you once were (in other words sing some Zep material while you tour with the celeb), then pretend that you are "beyond" Zeppelin now and are FREEEEE. What utter rubbish you fake, bugger off. I hope your next album with AK fails big time (no offense AK I actually like you) and may you never see the light of day again as far as the music press goes. You may not care for us Zeppelin fans, but here is truth, your solo material is complete crap compared to any album Led Zeppelin ever made, their worst material is 10 times better than the very best you have supposed to have made. And I cant waite for the new stuff JP, JPJ and JB are making now, because it will at the very least be an attempt to reach us Zep fans that have hoped for so long.
