My heart really goes out to the catawba because I consider the catawba as representatives of Lancaster and other regional native Americans. The conglomeration with USCLancaster in some aspects (festivals, lectures) was a good move it seems that various colleges/Universities would contribute great funds to the catawba Nation if they haven't already. The catawba as well as other indigenous people should be seen more in main stream America, the latin culture sure is spreading... spainish interpretation below many billboards, mexican food sections in the grocery store, now a mexican television citcom, salsa lessons in the University system, etc. Native Americans should get more repect in America, our own country. Surprising, there are people in nearby lancaster who have no idea where the reservation is, and probaby have n't heard much about the catawba and other active tribes.
