I am looking forward to the day when ESRB would meet heavy opposition from both gamers and game companies alike. ESRB is basically nothing but a trouble making organization.

Good for you. Street King. By the way, I hate ESRB. ESRB butchered video game ratins. Everyone is my most hated ESRB rating. That rating keeps losing my interestment to video games. Thank goodness, Wonder Pets and Kai-Lan for the DS and JumpStart for Wii was rated Early Childhood. That's why I will never trust ESRB again. So anyone who doesn't like ESRB may welcome in this thread anytime. So chat with me anytime.

Nowadays, people from all walks of life can gain access to games that are not suitable for them. Many of my friends already have games like Left 4 Dead, Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the Halo and Grand Theft Auto series. These peoples' ages are between 14 - 16, and their parents say nothing much about them despite these ratings. What does this show? It means a lot, my friends. It means that their parents doesn't care much about the ridiculous ratings that ESRB has put up! Take a closer look, for example, Halo 3. It is rated as M17+. And how many people below the age of 17 own copies of it? MILLIONS. M-I-L-L-I-O-N-S!

Also, do you know why so many teenagers / young adults commit all these crimes that relate to video games? It is because that their parents are just being too strict and forbids them to do so. As a result, they become increasingly frustrated and finally resolve to sneaking out and buy, stealing, or even robbing. I seriously think that ESRB should re-consider the effects of their "pathetic-beyond-words " ratings and make ammendments as soon as possible.

The following is an extract that I read off at the ESRB page at Wikipedia. It is found under the section "Rating Process". Here it is: "To obtain a rating for a game, a publisher sends the ESRB videotaped footage of the most graphic and extreme content found in the game. The publisher also fills out a questionnaire describing the game's content and pays a fee based on the game's development cost"
What do you think? I don't know, but I view it as an extremely unethical thing to do since most gamers won't exploit the limits to the fullest, like in the case of the infamous "Hot Coffee" patch for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Also, the Wikipedia page on ESRB also mentions that the raters came from different backgrounds, from retired school principals and parents to professionals. This is bad, real bad, because these people have nothing better to do than to sit around and play games all day long like a sore loser. If they don't like the game because of whatever dumb reasons, they would give all sorts of nonsensical ratings for it, which can heavily impact the game's company itself.

Imagine that you created a game, and it costs you 50 million dollars, and the ESRB sissy-looking yokels rate it as M18+, which means that your sales and profits only limit to those 18 and over. How does that feel?

I'm back. Wow. Now I hate Everyone. I can't believe Kai Lan Wii and Dora Wii is rated Everyone. Why can't they be rated Early Childhood? Wow, now video games based on preschool shows hates Early Childhood. They have to use Everyone. Why? That makes E rated Dora games inappropriate to 3-5 year olds and you have to turn 6. That really ticks me off. You know what's worse? Dora Puppies and The Backyardigans for the DS is not Early Childhood. Just Everyone. Why they have to rated Everyone to educational games based on preschool shows? It's inapropriate to 3-5 year olds. Bring back Early Childhood Dora. No more Everyone version of preschool programs based games. Now I hate ESRB. ESRB ignores Early Childhood and they have to put Everyone when making games based on educational shows. I hate you, ESRB and Everyone. I hate you. Go back to Early Childhood ratings when making preschool shows based games, ESRB. Stupid ESRB and Everyone.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Virgo

Luckily, you're less susceptible to people leaning on you today, but there's still a chance that someone might try to take advantage of your good nature. It's so darn difficult to stand up to them, partly because you genuinely want to help if you can, and partly because you don't want to be seen in a bad light. But you don't want to be seen as a doormat either, do you?
