The reason the communist wants to buddy up to the United States is Bush is about to put Venezuela on the list of state sponsors of terrorism. This is because the US has text, e-mails and telephone conversations as well as bank records showing Chavez supported the Colombian terrorist group FARC. If Venezuela is put on the terrorist list the US will boycott the country including oil. That means Venezuela will soon find itself isolated like Cuba. Something I can assure you neither the Venezuelan people nor the Venezuelan military will tolerate for long.
The guy is in trouble and he knows it.
Hope that helps you think like a logical person.
Here's something for your logic:
Venezuela + Chavez= no oil 4 USA
Venezuela - Chavez= mucho oil 4 USA

A) What war has he won??? Cause last I checked we are still fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, spending billions of our tax dollars every month and soldiers are still dying.
War is not won when an idiot claims "mission accomplished"... War is not won when a dictator is overthrown... War is won when all our troops are home safely and we're not pouring more tax money down that Pl$$ pot.
B) Yeah, he cut taxes... but I'd rather pay more in taxes once a year, than paying twice as much every time I fill up my gas tank. Gas is over TWICE as much as when we started the Iraq War -- which was supposed to "pay for itself" in oil savings.$132/barrel today. Where are those savings??? Oh, yeah... in the bank accounts of Oil Company CEOs.
C) Clinton did more than get a BJ... he ran a balanced budget, no - a SURPLUS budget... had low oil prices, high stock prices. The man deserved some oral service.
Are the troops home from Germany? Japan? Korea?

I don't think so.

Clinton ruined his legacy with a bj.

He will forever be remembered at the president who almost got impeached for a bj.

FYI Clinton cut capital gains taxes and approved NAFTA.

This stupidity is no different than Obama wanting to talk to Iraq, Syria, etc. These countries aren't going to agree with us on anything, especially with anything US liberals have to say. They will only agree with you if you give into their demands and then they will agree with you.
So, you went and met with Chavez. Super Duper, what did it accomplish?

chavez has been elected by large majorities more times than any other leader (dictator lie)

he has allowed the people who tried to murder him walk free and continue to advocate overthrowing the govt through violence on daily TV (political persecution lie)

he has raised the standard of living for most venezuelans (not just income) more than any leader has raised the standard of living for their people in the last decade ("destroying the country" lie).

I also disagree with his military spending, but then again I disagree with all military spending, and what do you expect when the US Navy is dispatching a special fleet there just to scare him and the US conducts illegal spy flights over the country?

There are some problems they need to overcome in terms of transparency, participation, and things like crime and ending their wasteful gas subsidy.

But you people are total morons. Read this site oilwars.blogspot.com , or borev.net for laughs.

PS - Alvaro Uribe is a notorious drug dealer and psychopath. Colombia is a dictatorship.

People like Accept Defeat make it possible to play poker for a living. They adopt someone's (anyone's !) opinion based on that person's observations -well thought out, so it makes sense - and look no further. Why not consider Chavez's statement and add it to the mass of lies and angles and spins we soak up?

The opposite is true. The lower the taxes the higher the per capita income for western countries.

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-...

Look at the PPP or purchasing power parity. This is what the average Joe can buy for his or her money.

This takes into account someone in England may make $100,000 but if they pay $70,000 in tax they can only buy $30,000 in good for themselves.

Let me guess, you attended a government school.

Chile has a higher income than Venezuela and a lower poverty rate. Chile has no oil.

Why?

Chavez is a disaster.

What I think is funny is listening to a bunch of Americans whine about loss of sovereignty with the illegals situation, continue to think its okay to screw with some other country's sovereignty.

US interference hasn't done anything but ruin other countries. All US friendly countries are flat broke and third world.

I don't blame Chavez or anyone else for not allowing the interference.

Its like your neighbor being a constant busy body in the affairs of your house. "Go home and mind your own business."

Joe Blow,Bush and his cabinet of terrorist loving crooks are stealing the oil and selling it to China you dumb bushtard.
Bush don't want to deal with Chavez because gas would only be $2.00 a gallon and Lil' George's Knumb-Skull and Bone-Heads CIA crooked buddies will spank him for being bad.

You know I'm still trying to find any extensive information on Venezuelan living standards. When I typed in 'Venezuela starvation', it didn't come up with articles about Venezuelans starving, but how even the poor have enough to eat and that the government is helping neibouring countries (oil for food). When I type in 'Chavez Dictator' articles come up about how the polling of elections were found to be fair even by audit companies in the USA.
When I look further into the Governments previous policies I see that they were responsible for shutting down the school of the Americas (infamous for torturing and violating human rights).
When I did some research into the Farc document saga I found the following:

In March, Colombian authorities asked Interpol to examine the computer files for authenticity. The organization released its report on May 15. On its web site, it states that Secretary General Ronald Noble "advised senior Colombian law enforcement officials that INTERPOL's team of forensic experts discovered 'no evidence of modification, alteration, addition or deletion' in the user files of any of the three laptop computers, three USB thumb drives and two external hard disks seized during a Colombian anti-narcotics and anti-terrorist operation on a FARC camp on 1 March 2008."

But Interpol admitted that lacking evidence doesn't prove "there was no tampering." In fact, some files had future date stamps and other indications of data alteration. It questions their authenticity, and Interpol (deep in its report) acknowledged that Columbia likely manipulated the contents - with an explanation needing close reading to understand. It delegitimizes Colombian claims and would get an international court to dismiss them out of hand. Reporters doing their job should as well. Data accuracy can't be verified or worse - they may be entirely fraudulent, and made-in-Washington mischief may be behind it.

Interpol's report continued saying "between 1 and 3 March, direct access to the seized computer exhibits....did not follow internationally recognized principles in the handling of electronic evidence under ordinary circumstance." Its experts "verified that this....had no effect" on file contents, but other report evidence contradicts that statement. Interpol, in fact, stated that "Direct access may complicate validating this evidence for purposes of its introduction in a judicial proceeding because law enforcement is then required to demonstrate or prove that the direct access did not have a material impact on the purpose for which the evidence is intended."

If people looked at the reporting of the Venezuelan Government in America compared to the rest of the world I think they would be quite surprised. Sure he's a big mouth and probably quite egotistical, but I wouldn't really consider him a threat to US citizens. Anyways he is due to step down next election, so I hope the US will wait to see what the out come is from the will of the Venezuelan people.

The poverty rate is 38%. Chile has a lower poverty rate and no oil.
