This kind of reporting just amazes me. It really does. Take a moment to consider how many members of the U.S. government have had dealings of one sort or another with any number of terrorist organizations, authoritarian states, and generally unscrupulous types. Bush had business meetings with members of the Taliban when he was an oil man. Governments are big things with lots of people who interact with other peoples, organizations, and governments all the time, but somehow the criteria for ‘involvement’ has been reduced to mere contact. This was best seen when trying to link Iraq to Al Qaeda. It was not necessary to show any coordination between them; an Al Qaeda member –anywhere- in Iraq that spoke to –anyone- in the Iraqi government was enough to condemn Iraq. The worst is, people read this stuff, don’t think critically about it, and just believe it.. Guilty by innuendo, mind boggling
