New Florida gun law leads to first seizure: Army veteran's AR-15

Florida deputies confiscated an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle from an Army veteran on Thursday, and the seizure was the first of its kind under the state’s new gun control law enacted following the Parkland school shooting. Jerron Smith, 31, of Deerfield Beach, is the first person to be arrested for running afoul of the new law since it went on the books March 9, the Broward County Sheriff’s Office said Monday. A spokeswoman for the office said a SWAT team went to Smith’s home Thursday and seized the AR-15 when he refused to surrender it voluntarily. The officers also seized a .22 caliber rifle he owned, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, a bump stock and numerous other weapon-related items.

This will soon be commonplace across America

There's more to it...

From foxnews.com -

In their petition for the RPO, deputies told the judge theat Smith had been arrested on aggravated assault charges in both 2016/2017.
- 2016 - accused of pulling a knife on a man, threatening him with it. The disposition of that case wasn't known.
- 2017 - accused of approaching a vehicle in his driveway and threatening to shoot the passenger, a woman. Prosecuters declined to persue charges.

The arrest came on March 29th for attempted murder charges.
After the arrest for violating the RPO, Smith was in jail in lieu of a $100,000 bond. The violation is a misdemeanor.

I am partially sympathetic to those older folks caught up in the middle of this cultural crisis. Older ones are generally set in their ways and rapid change is always confusing. I think a lot of decent older voters side with a conservative opinion. However the overwhelming majority of Americans want big change and that old bankrupt conservative rhetoric has been rejected. Not just Trump who is a symptom of how corrupt America has become stagnating under that old quasi-religious mob and it's ideology.
Post as much crap as you like, this November is the start of momentus changes in America and your kind are surplus to requirement

Wow! Way to completely skirt and sidetrack a question... Older folk? You dumbaszed millennial! Your parents are "older folk", how does telling them their lives and principles are outdated and becoming irrelevant work for you?
Yea, that's what I thought!
Let me tell you something boy, just because youre finally old enough to vote doesnt mean youre smart enough to figure out where your voting poll is at.....
The 2cd Amendment is neither conservative nor liberal so your blather about this upcoming election is useless. Pretty much all you libtard's blather is useless....but I digress.
You support the confiscation of guns from law-abiding Americans which means you support socialism, anarchy, and a 2cd civil war, because that's what will happen if you idiots ever try to play that card.

As far as the November mid-term elections.....
...remember 2016, you morons thought you had it all then too!

Trump said it himself, a Dem majority after Nov 6 everything goes away, and it will be the last gasp of the dying old order.

Really so Clinton was the answer. Your lost in your world socialist and communist will never work in America. How its really funny how person gets arrested for ag assault which is felony and a felon can not posse a firearm. Wasnt any new law enacted. He was told to hand over his firearms and he refused.

I didn't support Clinton, or any political dynasty. Our leaders should bring new ideas ad energy to our society and culture. They need to be the stewards of our nation not it's kings.

I can agree with that. It needs to stop before civil unrest starts. I do think the congressmen and women should only get 2 terms and the pay for them should be 1200 a month. But they have the people so blinded by their agendas

..."the overwhelming majority of Americans want big change"...
Ok. America wants change. Well that's the easy part.
Now, WHAT change? What changes? It's easy to ask for change. The problems start when we try and decide what kind of change, how to make those changes and how to pay for them.

Your rhetoric suggests you are detached from what is really happening around you.
"America has become stagnating under that old quasi-religious mob and it's ideology."
Up until just two years ago Saint Barack was reigning in DC and all was right with the world.
At least that is how the left was acting. We went from glorious to stagnate with just one election and less than two years?

I think you are being a touch melodramatic. As far as "quasi religious mobs" go the Christian right is almost nonexistent anymore while the left grows more dogmatic, violent and abusive daily.

"this November is the start of momentus changes in America"...
I guess we will see. If the so called "blue wave" actually DOES appear then I'll acknowledge that and suggest to the right wingers that maybe a course change is in order. And you? If there is a huge democratic victory then you will deservedly crow with satisfaction. But if the blue tsunami DOES NOT happen... then what? Will you acknowledge that you have been wrong and adjust or will you just find another scapegoat to blame? Comey, Russia, The NY Times, Fox News, White slave women who vote as their husbands wish...

Once again... if the blue tsunami DOES NOT happen... then what?
Will you admit your mistake or just throw around more blame?

There's going to be a tsunami, but it isn't Blue. Democrats would welcome the Invaders, but Republicans will not, they will meet them with the military. So everyone who want's to welcome the invaders vote Democrat. Everyone who wants the military protecting our sovereign border, vote Republican November 6th, or early voting. I have never seen so many people so eager to vote in my life
