Nonsense “By law, Social Security cannot deficit-spend and cannot borrow, so it is obvious that Social Security cannot add a penny to the federal deficit.”

Social Security is not going broke

Democrats put Social Security into the General Fund, so claiming it doesn't impact deficit, or debt is a shell game. Your children should have the option of having their 13% SS deductions earning 5, or 6% in compound interest instead of the MINUS 1% Democrats insist is rational.

Why would social security want to take my social security card?

The high salaries wasteful budgets and high government pensions does a lot more damage than the cash cow social security.

From the article: "The rest of the government has been running such huge deficits over the years that it has spent all of the surpluses accumulated by Social Security."

So in reality, the general budget is just paying back the money it owes to the Social Security fund. That it has to incur more debt to do so is not the fault of social security!

For 30 years we have been spending social security surplus money which should now be used to make up the difference between what we take in and what we pay out. But we did not do that, what we did is just spend the money, that hurts in two ways, one the money is gone and unavailable to be used for what it was collected for. Two it was used to grow the size of government which will have to be supported with other moneys when there are no longer surpluses.

We have known for a long time about the population bubble we call baby boomer generation, why did we spend money we know we needed just to let a future generation have to pay for it. This is a prime example of why as many things as possible should be kept out of the federal governments hands as possible. It is simply not competent to manage even the simplest of programs.

And people want to give them the rest of the medical pie, Obamacare, I don't get it. I am voting Romney and hope we can get rid of that mess because Obama shows no sign of doing it.
