Talk of tyranny, revolution attracts Tea Party activists to Colonia...

Full story: DispatchPolitics

The original Tea Party was in Boston, but some modern-day activists are finding a powerful narrative this summer at a different historic landmark: Colonial Williamsburg.

T-baggers are an absolute disgrace to this country, along with the GOP who fund and support their bigoted and racist views, and the entire right-wing "conservative" hate-movement will continue to "hurt our cause". We must reject the divisive hate-politics of the GOP and their t-bagrepublican sheeple.

They are nuts. They are whackos. Being a tea partier has to be grounds for being clinically defined as legally insane.

It seems like the community has organized into the Tea Party, and the Left is freaked out.

Real insanity is the road we are being taken down by the sitting POTUS and Congress. Throw the Dems and their socialist/marxist/communist ilk out this November. You can call them all the names you want but the Tea Party has done a great service to the rest of us.

The negative comments obviously come from people who are concerned and afraid of the standards the tea party members stand for (the real working citizens of the good old USA). I love it when they revert to name calling - you can just hear the fear in their words!

Anyone who supports any form of government or any form of religion is insane.

Williamsburg is definitely an asset to learning about our history as a young country. My kids still talk about everything they learned there.

I initially found some Tea Party views interesting, thought-provoking. Now I just think they're a bunch of out-of-touch, angry losers w/o a clue. People talk about the constitution and our Founding Fathers as if they actually have some idea what they're saying, and most don't.

Thanks for the article about the theatrics at Colonial Williamsburg and the aggregation of Teaparty people. Make what you will of it, but the only time this loosely organized mass of Americans need to come together with unified purpose and intent is the Tuesday after the first Monday of November...

The past couple of years has caused more and more people to look more carefully at the impetus for the founding of this country and more importantly what all has gone on over the past few decades that has weakened our fabric as a nation.

There is a saying in India that if a dog bites a man, it is beneath the dignity
of the man to retaliate by biting the dog.

The post does not deserve a response, thoughtful or otherwise, and
there is no need to put him down. His own post does that. He is the
billboard of his own buffoonery.

The activists should read up on how the founding fathers responded to the Whiskey Rebellion.

'When one asked whether the Boston Tea Party had helped rally the patriots, Washington disagreed with force: The Tea Party "should never have occurred," he said. "It's hurt our cause, sir."'

Clearly, George Washington was an America-hating communist! We must remove him from our schools' curricula.

Yes, let's ask our founding fathers for advice on how to behave in the 20th century. We should always remember and respect the democratic design the founding fathers created for our country with the constitution. But, I think people who refused to let women out of the house, thought they could actually own other humans, and believed leeches were a sound medicinal tool might be slightly behind in the times. They designed our constitution to be amended and grow with the changing times. And, a lot has changed since our country was founded. I think George Washington would have a lot of catching up to do if he wanted to give actual relevant and decent political advice for the 20th century.

Seems to me I remember the last Administration being described as the "Imperial Presidency," no doubt due to the many instances of un-mandated decisions that benefited the few at the cost of the many.
