GOP Mich. Mayor Known for Anti-Gay Remarks Voted out of Office

The conservative mayor of Troy, Mich., who made national headlines for her anti-gay comments, was voted out of office on Tuesday after a successful movement to have a recall vote was put on the Tuesday ballot.

Is there ANY teabagger not morbidly obese? They constantly cry about being deprived of money, yet somehow can afford to shove down enough food to grow as fat as cows. Odd.

She was correct in that she has the right to exercise her freedom of speech.

However she seems to have forgotten that freedom to speak does NOT mean freedom from consequences.

You can't possibly represent all the citizens as mayor when you refer to the gay citizens repeatedly in the manner she did.

She thinks her losing is for the best. So do I.

I find it interesting that so very many on the "Right" are finding so many things to blame for their defeat except their own policies. Is it possible that the Republican Party will fade into irrelevance and be replaced with 2 parties, 1 for the fiscal conservatives and 1 for the "thumpers"?

Obesity in America knows no party. It's been epidemic for decades and getting worse.

I had to go to a phone store yesterday because my Samsung Intercept phone (which i LOVE and can't be without) started acting weird 2 days ago and I bought a replacement.

So I go into the store to have the account switched from the older phone to the newer phone, and there are 9 people in the store, including employees (becuase I counted accurately) and except for ONE person, they were ALL obese, employees AND customers.

I notice this particularly at grocery stores.

Obesity IS and HAS BEEN FOR A LONG TIME, a national health crisis, and people who maintain a healthy weight such as myself (I've never weighed more than 150#'s) wind up paying for it in the form of higher insurance premiums, and higher medical costs to cover the lazy fatsos.

What' is particularly disturbing, is when I see young children, 7, 8, 9 years old, who are obese. They'll be that way the rest of their lives, and have the consequent health problems, and associated costs to bear, physical, mental, and emotional.
