Arkansas resumes issuing birth certificates after brief halt

There are 16 comments on the Yahoo! story from Dec 8, 2017, titled Arkansas resumes issuing birth certificates after brief halt. In it, Yahoo! reports that:

Arkansas' governor ordered health officials on Friday to treat married lesbian and heterosexual couples the same when listing the parents on a birth certificate, in an effort to comply with a June U.S. Supreme Court ruling that the state's birth certificate law was discriminatory. Gov. Asa Hutchinson's directive came hours after a judge blocked the state from issuing any birth certificates until it complied with the June ruling.

Let me guess: But not married gay men being treated the same as single, male adopters with respect to issuing up to date birth certificates for any kids....

Up to date? You mean make false. Any birth certificate that doesn't list the true parents is a false document and sexual orientation has nothing to do with it.

"Any birth certificate...."

Then you take that issue up with Arkansas, idiot, because even prior to this common sense decision the state's police was to make "false," as you would have it, the birth certificates in these types of situations involving a str8 couple who was married.

Any birth certificate that doesn't list the true parents is a false document and sexual orientation has nothing to do with it. I don't have to take it up with anyone.

Then for once in your (male) homosexually fixated life you don't have a complaint about something specifically lgbt related. Str8 adoptive couples employ this "falsity" and have for many decades which so concerns you. As I said, take it up with the state of Arkansas. And with every other one.

Not all that concerned. Just putting the facts out there. I don't care if adults want to lie to kids, the lies are sanctioned by the government. Not many lies are, you know, the perjury crap you find on most government documents. Because you enjoy playing the victim you assume everything is an assault on you and those like you.

It should be called a certificate of adoption or, at the very least, an amended birth certificate.

And no one has to care what you think. A state-issued BC is valid whether you agree with it or not.

Who in the heck would want to grow up and discover they have an amended birth certificate?
.
Can you imagine the flap if Obama had an amended birth certificate?
.
The new fake president would be all over his case

That doesn't make it the documented truth. In the case of adoption they are usually false. In fact, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that a birth certificate issued to two men or two women is nothing more than a lie.

The original birth certificate is usually sealed, not destroyed. Two different birth certificates for the same person and you know that one is a lie.

The BC records the legal parents, not the genetic progenitors. In a marriage, any child born during the marriage is legally the child of the two spouses, whether the two are fertile or not. Many couples use donor sperm to create a pregnancy, and will never know the identity of the donor. Are you suggesting that the BC leave "father" blank?

Adoptive parents can, in fact, have a BC issued with them listed as parents. During most adoptions, the child's parents no longer have any claim to the child, and their identities are kept secret. There is no legal requirement for the parent listed to be a genetic progenitor.

No, a woman whose husband cats around doesn't get to be named the mother, especially since I noted that a child born WITHIN a marriage is considered the spouses' child. The child born to the mistress would not be born WITHIN the marriage.

A child born to a lesbian couple doesn't necessarily need to be adopted y the non-bio mother. States are still hammering that out.

SSM is the law of the land. No "slippery slope" is required.

Actually, the birth certificate lists the genetic parents and never the adopted parents. A man has sex with a woman who is not his wife, the wife does not get to be listed as the mother. In the case of a woman impregnated by another man, the spouses simply can name the other spouse but the genetic father can contest it with a paternity test.

But, thanks for bringing up another slippery slope to SSM.

Any fu**ing document can be challenged if it has a fu**ing error on it, fucwit. But the FACT is that until such time as the error is rectified, the document stands as valid.

That is another lie from the gay crowd.....because errors on birth certificates have been made and corrected. A woman who claims that Ellen Degeneres is the father of the child and gets the state to issue it as such, can have that birth certificate challenged by degeneres.
