You do know that CEO's have to "earn" what they get and if they don't, they will be fired. That is how corporations work.<quoted text>
Wrong, Rogue. Okay, I'll accept that a baker was earning upwards of $85,000 a year. Will you accept that the CEO was earning over $1.5 million a year, and with his exec minions paid in the millions? Do you accept that the CEO should earn upwards of 15 times the annual emolument that the indispensable baker earns? Is that a good ratio? Can the baker do without the company? NO. Can the company do without the baker? NO. CEO should by all rights earn more than the baker, yes, I agree, but 15 times more? Why? Does he own the company? NO. Is he the company's founder? In most cases, NO.
I've dealt with unionized AND non-unionized people all my life. Some good, some bad from both on an equal basis. Sorry you had bad experiences, but I ask, why were the unionized Winn-Dixie okay and not the others?
As I asked before, Rogue, are the big guys paying you for being in their servitude?
Corporations are owned by the shareholders and and if they don't like what the CEO is doing, they can him. And then they go out and hire a CEO who will. And just like a movie producer who will get a high paid actor, the hires a high paid CEO who will bring home the bacon.
Tell me Jacques, to you get upset about the amount of money "some" actors, athletes, musicians, singers, etc. make? Why not hire a second rate actor so you can have cheaper tickets?
Oh, they do have a professional baseball team here in Jacksonville but it is not major league, it is MINOR league. But you can get just as much entertainment and save money, can't you?
I have never been to the races in Daytona but I have been to a local dirt track and I enjoy it a whole lot better.
