Jacques,
It has always been in my belief system that the individual who is seeking help determines what is an emergency.
Not all medical staff would agree, but many do.
It's nice to see people walk out of there with nothing really wrong.

If you met any of my friends and family they would tell you that I am the sweetest person they have ever met.
But when I see my country taken over by moron Commie garbage, red diaper babies, and the supposedly educated intelligent people are defending Commie scum, I am going to do what any normal American would do. I fight back.
I don't want my country to turn into a Commie sympathizing, muslim kowtowing socialist on the way to Communism dictatorship.
If you don't like it, too bad.
Perhaps you ignoramuses should have thought about that before you attempted to transform America.
Now go blow.
Now why would you say that this country is being ran by a moron Commie garbage??? Is it because the president wants to cut all tax breaks for the rich and wants to raise taxes on the top 2% of people???? What will that stop you from taking that trip overseas or stop you from buying that $40,000 car which you don't really need!!!!!!
Also is it that he is for same sex marriage or the woman's right to have an abortion???? Or how about gays openly serving in the military??? Bet veryone of thoes really sticks in your craw.

In his 2006 book Winning the Race, political commentator John McWhorter attributed the rise in the welfare state after the 1960s to the Cloward–Piven strategy, but wrote about it negatively, stating that the strategy "created generations of black people for whom working for a living is an abstraction

Some commentators have blamed the Cloward–Piven strategy for the near-bankruptcy of New York City in 1975

Richard Kim, writing in 2010 in The Nation (in which the original essay appeared), called such assertions "a reactionary paranoid fantasy..." but says that "the left's gut reaction upon hearing of it--to laugh it off as a Scooby-Doo comic mystery--does nothing to blunt its appeal or limit its impact. The Nation later stated that Beck blames the "Cloward-Piven Strategy" for "the financial crisis of 2008, healthcare reform, Obama's election and massive voter fraud" and has resulted in the posting of much violent and threatening rhetoric by users on Beck's website, including death threats against Frances Fox Piven. For her part, Piven vigorously continues to defend the original idea, calling its conservative interpretation "lunatic.

Sounds like it caused more trouble than itwas worth.

Thanks for the copy and paste.
Now, why don't you explain your posiyion without using it to back up your biased claim.
The fact of the matter is that Obama was a member of the New Party, and so was Frances Fox Piven.
Francis Fox Piven is now bragging about how her ideas are working and that Obama is implementing them.

Obama's America – and ours
Pat Buchanan: How'd we survive for 174 years before federal government was birthed?

Here is Obama’s full quote:

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made it happen.”

From Jamestown in 1607 to Yorktown in 1781, there was no federal government. There was no United States. Yet generations of colonists had built forts, cleared lands, created farms, established workshops. Americans fed, clothed and housed themselves, creating one of the highest standards of living on earth for 3 million people.

How could the U.S. government have built the roads and bridges if the U.S. government did not exist before 1789? There were no public schools until the 19th century. Colleges were the creations of religious denominations. The Pell grant had not yet been invented.

Was government indispensable to Eli Whitney’s invention of the cotton gin, Robert Fulton’s invention of the steam boat, Alexander Graham Bell’s invention of the telephone, Guglielmo Marconi’s invention of the radio and Thomas Edison’s invention of the light bulb, and just about everything else?

Did Wilbur and Orville Wright learn how to build bicycles in a CETA program? Were the feds responsible for the flight at Kitty Hawk?

Seeing government as antecedent to enterprise, Obama has it backward. In America, individuals, families, communities came first. Hardworking men and women built the society. Only after that did they send their best and brightest off to the House of Burgesses to discuss colonial issues.

The Founding Fathers who created the U.S. government were deeply distrustful of the centralized power Obama seems to worship. They had had enough of the beneficent big government of George III. Obama notwithstanding, government does not create wealth. Government collects wealth, redistributes wealth, consumes wealth.

Even when government “builds” something like a Golden Gate Bridge, it does not really build it. It commissions it. Architects, engineers and construction companies build the bridge, not bureaucrats from HUD.

You won't believe details in alleged bank scandal

http://www.wnd.com/2012/02/just-makin-stuff-u...

Interesting... Now, look who's making great growth with HSBC:
INDONESIA...
Exciting
is the word senior HSBC executives like to use to describe the Bank's prospects
in Indonesia. The increasing confidence of overseas investors, an expanding
middle class, the Bank's leadership role in Islamic banking, a stable
government, a robust economy and, perhaps most importantly, the recent
acquisition of a domestic bank, all mean there is a great deal to be excited
about.
"Both
the positioning of HSBC and the way the Bank is perceived in Indonesia is
changing," said the Chief Executive of HSBC Indonesia, Rakesh Bhatia. "We are
now a leading bank in Indonesia, not just a niche foreign player."
The
'game-changer' as Mr Bhatia puts it, was the recent USD 607.5 million
acquisition of Bank Ekonomi, a domestic lender with strong links to the
country's entrepreneur community.

I hate to say it again, and i've said it before, that WND needs to separate its religious content and more zany articles from the real reporting that it, and it alone, does.

THANK YOU WND!!!!! YOU STAND ALONE IN A WORLD OF PATHETIC AND COWARDLY REPORTING!!!

Did ATF director threaten whistleblowers?

Lawmakers and government accountability advocates have expressed concern over a July 9 video message directed at Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents by ATF Acting Director Todd Jones, which they say is a veiled threat to government whistleblowers.

“Choices and consequences means simply that if you make poor choices, that if you don’t abide by the rules, that if you don’t respect the chain of command, if you don’t find the appropriate way to raise your concerns to your leadership, there will be consequences, because we cannot tolerate — we cannot tolerate — an undisciplined organization,” Jones said in the video.

Some lawmakers and government accountability groups interpreted the words as a warning to employees considering blowing the whistle on corruption.

That's exactly what it was. No misinterpreting that. I do not think this admin understands just how close this Nation is to collapse and civil war. A division that was created by Obama and no one else. At least no one with the pair to step forward and be known anyway. I wonder if it came to civil war, who would the military listen to? I'm not sure they would obey Obama's commands and well they shouldn't. This whole thing with Obama is nothing more than an Islamic Push into the U.S.A. That's what I think the problem actually is. It's unfortunate for those who have been here many, many years and have been good citizens. However, this new generation (if you will) of Islamists are much more violent towards America and Americans. They're trying to take up roots here and the people are fed up with it. It's not a black/white issue at all. They're merely using them as a scapegoat. This is the issue. It's ugly yes, but our land is our land and will remain so at whatever cost. That means when we look across our great and beautiful land we will not be looking at mosques sprinkling the hillside. No, no, an old barn will do just fine. Country folk can survive! Best just to leave these long-haired country folk alone.

Do you have any idea how many people would die first before they give up their guns?
I see nothing wrong with that.
Afterall, look what happened in China and Germany.
And you think that with the crooked government we have, they would not hesitate to lessen the population so that they would not have to pay for the citizens' healthcare, or their own livelihood if it costs too much to care for them?
The mere fact that Obamacare was passed shows we are on the brink of disaster.
If you're a veteran and you've been to the VA, you should already know when government is in charge of your healthcare they cut corners or you have to wait forever to see the doctor.
Your naivety is amusing.
The mere fact that you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about and still get to vote is not amusing. Obamacare does not put the government in charge of your healthcare it only mandates that you get insurance. You may or may not be forced to pay the penalty depending on your financial circumstances; or tax if you prefer to call it that, but you’ll need to explain how your particular situation will change under the new healthcare law.

If you believe your health care provider is “cutting corners” it has nothing to do with the government Siouxweety unless your provider is the county hospital.

My provider proffers useful information instead of ignorant birfoon disaster rhetoric so maybe you’d be well advised to take a look and save yourself from further embarrassing foolishness born out of ignorance.
https://info.kaiserpermanente.org/html/imcrlp...

On second thought you’d be probably better served by watching the cartoon Siouxweety. It explains the entire law in a 9 min clip.
http://healthreform.kff.org/the-animation.asp...

I’ve not had the pleasure of going to the VA hospital, but I have spoken to vets here who seem to love it. I suppose whether one likes it or not would depend on the hospital.

Most states have Concealed Carry permits but Colorado's laws prohibit anyone from carrying a concealed weapon in places like movie theaters. Soooo, if someone in that Aurora theater had a concealed carry permit and used his gun to shoot James Holmes, he would have been arrested.
I can see them stopping you from entering a court room and a few other areas but there are usually enough armed police officers to protect you. Until there is at least one armed police officer in every theater, you should be allowed to arm yourself to protect yourself, your family and strangers around you.

Md. Gun Law Found Unconstitutional -- March 5, 2012

BALTIMORE (AP)— The Second Amendment right to bear arms is not limited to the home and Maryland’s requirement that residents show a “good and substantial reason” to get a handgun permit is unconstitutional, according to a federal judge’s opinion filed Monday.

The right to bear arms has historically been understood to allow for militia membership and hunting, which extends the right beyond the home, U.S. District Judge Benson Everett Legg wrote. States can channel the way residents exercise their rights, but because Maryland’s goal was to minimize the number of firearms outside homes by limiting the privilege to those who could demonstrate “good reason,” it had turned into a rationing system, he wrote.

“A citizen may not be required to offer a `good and substantial reason’ why he should be permitted to exercise his rights,” Legg wrote.“The right’s existence is all the reason he needs.”

Plaintiff Raymond Woollard obtained a handgun permit after fighting with an intruder in his Hampstead home in 2002, but was denied a renewal in 2009 because he could not show he had been subject to “threats occurring beyond his residence.” Woollard appealed, but was rejected by the review board, which found he hadn’t demonstrated a “good and substantial reason” to carry a handgun as a reasonable precaution. The suit filed on Woollard’s behalf by the Second Amendment Foundation in 2010 claimed that Maryland didn’t have a reason to deny the renewal and wrongly put the burden on Woollard to show why he still needed to carry a gun.

“People have the right to carry a gun for self-defense and don’t have to prove that there’s a special reason for them to seek the permit,” said his attorney Alan Gura, who has challenged handgun bans in the District of Columbia and Chicago.“We’re not against the idea of a permit process, but the licensing system has to acknowledge that there’s a right to bear arms.”

The lawsuit names the state police superintendent and members of the Handgun Permit Review Board.

Just because police officers can carry a concealed carry weapon, does not mean there will not be accidents. I carry only modern revolvers are they are almost impossible to have an accidental firing.
Most, but not all, revolvers either have a transfer-bar or a trigger block that will prevent the firing pin from hitting the cartridge unless the trigger is all the way back.
There are also a few auto pistols like the Glock that also have a "smart" trigger but most do not.
