Deportation of pregnant teen has town in uproar

Karina Acosta's senior year at Roswell High came to an abrupt end after she was ticketed for blocking a fire lane outside a school and driving without a license.

I fail to see the problem. Good job officer. Now if we could only get our law enforcement people to do theirs our state would be operating with a surplus rather than a deficit.

The right of a free education does not mean American citizens are responsible to pay for a free education for citizens of every foreign country in the world, especially those that are hear ILLEGALLY. We never signed on to educate all of South and Central America with our hard earned dollars. If we do educate a citizen from another country that country should be sued and back charged for the expense to our citizens. Enough is enough.

I feel for anyone whose life is disrupted as hers, but she was driving without a license and parked in front of a fire hydrant--she could have caused a great tragedy. Pregnant at 18 too. I agree and it is the same here in south Florida. I have a friend who is a math teacher and she was looking for a job in another school and all that was availible were English as a Second Language positions. If we got rid of even 50% of the illegals in Miami Dade County alone it would save taxpayers alot of money.

Good Morning fellow ignorants, I see you all out in full force with this topic, just as I expected it.
Well, you are right you do not need to educate us immigrants.
But your goverments realized that is cheaper to educate us here then to import us from our countries later on.
See, the best doctors, scientist, etc are all from other countries.
So it is expensive for you guys to bring us at an older age.
NOw if you educate us in your school and you see the potential you will give us the documents so we can stay here and because we did our schooling here you will think that we will go around the world saying that we Americans.

It is not the responsibility of Americans to educate let alone pay for the births of illegal immigrants. Period. I understand she is a young girl. But, she's here illegally. If people want to come to America, then let them do it the right way. Do the paper work and apply for citizenship. My mother in law is from Japan. She did it the hard way. She applied, memorized the constituion(I don't even think I could do that), took the test, worked 2 jobs all of her life, paid taxes, and did a fabulous job taking care of her husband and children. She is a great woman in my book. She waited her turn and did it the right way. Which is what all immigrants should do.

I came here legally and waited 6 years just to get a work permit. Why should some chonga get her papers within hours, when other have to wait years? We shouldn't educate her at all other than how not to get pregnant! Then why don't you Canadians stop coming here for treatment! Why would an American go to a hospital in Canada just to wait 14 hours in Triage just to get their blood pressure, and temperature taken? How about waiting 6 months to see your family doctor? Or waiting 5 months for an MRI? If Canada is so great for health care then why are people dying in the hallways waiting for beds in the hospitals?

I lived in Ontario for 16 years. I don't see why you're bragging about it being so great up there. It sucks bawls.

Why would any half intelligent American want to go to Canada and get substandard healthcare and pay such high taxes. Recently there have been articles in the Canadian media about how depending what your postal code is depends on how up to date the cancer care is. It takes months to go to specialists, get scans and have necessary surgery. I lived there for years and worked in healthcare in the past and would only go back to visit.

My family and I had our family Dr. and never had to wait. Just like here book an appt and go see him.
People dying in the halls, please do not come here with your right wing political propaganda.
