Too bad they didn't receive more jail time. I'm sure it will take their victims much longer than 2-1/2 years to straighten out their finances and identity issues. Should be a mandatory 10 years in prison. And as far as paying restitution...ha ha... that will never happen.

Once you've had this happen to you. You'll be wondering how the court can hand down such a lite sentence... I'd much rather see a hand on the chopping block and now disability payment. Now that's something to think about. My situation caused me to be dismissed from a great and successful job for less than honerable personal conduct. Six years later and $12k legal fees, cleared of all misconduct to credit companies. I'm still starting from the bottom.... Get TOUGH on CRIME is what I vote for. Enough of the liberal way of thinking that those poor darlings just had it rough and they'll get back on track...... Wait till it happens to you!

I think you should share just a little about your "discussions" with your Internet "friend". Your story made me angry, but not enough details so that I am sure the culprit understood your viewpoint.
I guess my attitude might be wrong on this, it's just your post renewed my outrage of being cbyer attacked this week, just a simple case of "Viagra" type emails, and suffering the embrassment of having to explain to friends why I thought it important that they should buy Sex enhancing drugs. Harmless joke? Not if you care about your standing in society, and regret losing contact with a friend,I may have, or maybe a job..

It's time there is a National Internet Abuser listing, so those on the list can't have Internet at home, can't own any Computors or Internet capable equipment, for a time period based on extent of illegal acts. Their personal Internet equipment should be seized, at time of arrest, and destroyed/sold when convicted. A drive-by scanner can detect Internet activities, and should be used as a deterent for those listed.

Ever notice how crime goes up when economy goes down?

Get tough has been the approach for 30 years now and yet the only time crime went down was in the Clinton years. While I like to remind people he put 100,000 new cops on the street and was endorsed by law enforcement both times, I know the real reason was the strong economy and the biggest increase in new jobs.

When more people find honest ways of making a living less people do illegal things. Nobody is inherently bad, nobody's inherently good. Everyone acts out of self interest. It's not that complicated. Tough, lock 'em all up talk plays well in bars with a Bud in your hand, or around the water cooler, but even that is self-serving.

Our new governor is talking about medicade cuts and you think there's money for locking up more people for longer sentences for non-violent crimes.

These 2 people are doing 3 years in jail. And then courts will be chasing them for restitution probably for the rest of their lives unless they find well paying honest work in what will probably still be hard time, and as felons. That's not a slap on the wrist.
Pathetic Judicial System

My son 18 had his driver’s license revoked for 10 years here in Ohio because of a DUI in West Virginia. He attended and cleared the court proceedings in West Virginia, but we did not know about a DMV hearing we also were expected to attend back in West Virginia. This information wasn't on our Ohio Drivers Test. WITH ALL THE IDENTITY THEFT ISSUES GOING ON and CHARGING people to get protected, it's beginning to sound like another Judicial Rip Off in motion. WHAT A DEAL, when a person is caught red handed (WOW) 2 to 21. They might possibly do 2 years at best. This sounds more like an ENCOURAGEMENT, not a DETERRENT. OBVIOUSLY, THERE IS MORE MOTIVATION IN COLLECTING OUR PROTECTION MONEY THAN SETTING AN EXAMPLE TO THE OTHER CROOKS. IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY ... I guess that is why ALL BARS and LIQOUR ASTABLISHMENTS have parking lots.

Wonder if these two criminals are Somali, as they are well-known to be involved in ID & credit card theft/fraud ? If so, that's another wonderful thing they've brought to our community ...

They got off really light! Should have been 10 years for each of them! That kind of sentence will send a message that this illegal behavior will not be tolerated!

I think Greg Frost should get 2-1/2 years. Those people deserve at least 20 years for ruining peoples lives.

2 1/2 years...that figures. crime will never be brought under control as long as judges are allowed to give these laughable sentences. when a criminal sits down and makes their "for/against" list and there is MUCH more in the "for" column than the "against" one, there is no reason not to go ahead and commit the crime.

i bet if it was the judge's identity that was stolen he would have recommended a lot more than 2.5 years.

the only good judge is one in a nursing home.(gotta watch what you say on-line)
