Why would Talisker go through all the trouble of buying the Canyons if they will be bankrupt soon?

Because when they turn on the LHC, we're all going to be sucked up in a black hole anyway.

Talisker has never operated a ski resort before, they are a development company, is anyone aware that only 20% of the approved development at the canyons has actually been built, where will the other 80% be and what will it do to our already crowded situation, running ski resorts is not their core business and there is no chance that Talisker will improve on the skier experience, that is just absurd. Plus they are now really extended and will be bankrupt shortly, one lot sold at Tuyhahe since December.
Where the hell are you getting your information. There have been 10 sales at Tuhaye since beginning of 2008. Get your facts straight. Also, this was not Talisker who closed on the Canyons, it was a branch called Talisker Finance, a totally different entity. Go back to your hole and do some research.

Everyone should read the SEC filing of the so-called purchase and stop arguing over what the "facts" are. It was seller financed, 21 month note 71M at 15% interest. That can't be good. However, they are the new owner of the lease but the debt service is definitely something to be worried about. According to an interview with KPCW their debt service is like 15M per year. WOW. It will be interesting to see how they get out from under that. If someone can shed some light on this please let me know. Are they saving all of their other pennies for improvements? Or do they plan on major lot sales to come through?

I'd like to see where it says that there has been 10 Tuhaye sales since December, and what makes anyone think that Talisker Finance does not pull from the same pockets as Talisker Corp? From my understanding Talisker Finance was conceived only a short time ago by Talisker Corp.

GSO,
Is it biased to reinstate what the SEC filing says? Is the SEC biased to for saying that there is an IOU in the name of Talisker? I think that the only bias here is your lopsided view of Talisker. Yes they got there name on the paper because of a handout. Is that biased? No. That is a fact. Does that make me a Griswold supporter or a Park Recordson supporter? No. Do you know what a bias is? A stated fact that happens to go against your alliance doesn't it an opinion. I understand if you are not very intelligent, however it would have been easier if you would have just stated that as a fact and not let your opinion fly.

there have been 10 sales at tuhaye? I wonder if they have been closed on yet or if they have been extended 8 times and still pending? I wish the new owners the best if they have the community in mind. If they just want to develop real estate I hope they go away soon.

Talisker only paid $50MM in cash. The rest is a note, which in other words is just a promise to pay later. Thats like a guy who cant get a mortgage buying a house and having the seller carry the paper. Pretty sketchy. And yes it is true, Talisker has not lived up to its obligations at DV. That isn't biased reporting. Those are just the facts.

Contact one of the 1000 or so real estate agents in town and have them look it up for you. Or, do some work yourself and go to our county seat and find out for yourself. It is public knowledge
