Actually, NO, the reason he spent and spent is because it is in his DNA as a community organizer. Half a billion for a buddy with a solar company that ran with the money. Billions and possibly trillions for a health care joke. I thought demo-C-rats were not that much for big companies, why did he coin the term "Too big to fail".
If O did not pump money i, we would be all in Hoovervilles.

The fact is that the recession was caused because of the failure of banking and lending institutions many of which (fannie and freddy) who were forced to make substandard loans. Can we say democrats playing to their voting base?
THe repeal of Glass Steagal is why we are in this mess. OOne of the guys who helped lobby for that bill even admitted that.

<quoted text> i listened to the link you sent me as to why he opposed the repeal of Glass-Steagal. He said that he did not support government regulating banking but that he supported it because the banks are backed by the feds. So basically in a Ron Paul world, baks would be allowed to become too big to fail, while their customers funds would not be guaranteed by the government.
Sounds dangerous to me.

Well, I'm definitely still learning. I usually can recognize something that is blatantly UNconstitutional-- such as the citizen detention bill and numerous executive orders such as implementing the Dream Act when that is a Congressional matter. What examples are there of Ron Paul having stances/voting in an unconstitutional manner or showing a lack ocf knowledge in the Constitution?

Well, if it were not for the social programs, which can't last forever- we would be in Hooverville. That's the basic differece between the 1930s Depression and now.

I would also say the the Federal Reserve is totally unconsttutional because the Constitution gives Congress and ONLY Congress the power to coin money and regulate the value thereof.

Can you imagine if there were no more food stamps, subsidized housing, welfare money of any kind for low income people, and if most people lost their government jobs when there are basically no private sector jobs to go to- especially since most all job growth in the last couple of decades or more has been in the government sector, not the private sector? And what if contractors lost government contracts? Money cannot continue to be magically manufactured without consequences. We need private sector business and jobs. When governement and our money collapse- the 1930s will look like child's play. At least they didn't have a bunch of violence back then and most people were rural and could grow their own food and still knew how to live off the land. Also if you made a dollar the dollar was worth something. We CANNOT continue on this road laid out by numerous former administraions and continued by and added to by Obama. The ENTIRE system and course muse be altered. You can'e build on this sickness that exists.

Isn't it interesting that Liberals always prophesy doom without drastic Government intervention when it was meddling by the Government that produced most of these problems in the first place?

Actually if you have a memory, most of the problems started with the lending institutions, the ones that Charging Charlie Rangle and others forced to make all of the substandard loans. Loans that to this date are in litigation and foreclosure. Actually, as history has proven, was is an insturment to get an economy going just check out WW2 and Vietnam. To be honest they stimulate production of war materials, other items associated with needs for the military such as MREs and it actually started the Hummer craze that lasted a few years. It also gives jobs to many who would be on the unemployed rolls and kills off excess population. Only after a war, when the cost of the medical problems become apparent does war really become a negative cash flow.
Do the research and tell me how much was spent total on this war. Let me know what amount you come up with.

You just got to love obama supporters they give all of this what would have happened if not statements, something that can not be documented is easy to say. We were in Hovervilles, I do believe that Hoover was also a democrat, imagine that.

Now give me some facts that can be quantified.

It IS STILL being spent, how the hell do you come up with a total?

If obama thinks it is so bad why are we still in Iraq and Afghanastan?

As I stated WW2 and Vietman got the economy stimulated.
Domestic issues is what fueled this recession.

If you know anything about war, you can't just leave the country. This is why we still have to be there. Again, he didn't start this, but he is doing his best to leave. You must not know much about how things really work.
