how many times have the federals overstepped their boundaries and walked right into American soil ? and with NO explanation or apologies ? AND NO THREATS from the US, OR ARRESTS OR SCUFFLE TO ARREST THEM ? and now one marine is inexplicably just arrested without listening to his reason for ending at the border ? and they want US tourism ? their damned gov. is INSANE. They all need to be taught a hard lesson. Lets line up all the border with marines and DEMAND HIS RELEASE......PRONTO !

I do remember soldiers from Mexico accidentally crossed into the USA (as told by them), and all of them were armed. They were turned around without much incident. This has happened several times, and none have been sent to prison or jail. He will probably be let go in the end. The biggest problem I have in arresting him is throwing him in with dangerous criminals that they know will try and extort the family, beat him, or kill him. They need to keep him safe until they figure it out..

Some border agents were shot at by Mexican soldiers on the American side before escaping back into Mexico once.

Here is a link to a couple of the incidents.

So you'd be perfectly happy to let off armed men crossing the border in the other direction without passing through border control?

Or do you justr think americans are the master race and thus have more rights than anyone else?

The article also says the guy recently drove the truck where all the weapons were found from florida to california. Isn't that against US federal law unless he had at least 8 different concealed carry permits?

Face it, the guy broke the law and if he looked arabic and was going in the other direction, he'd be getting tortured in guantanamo by now.

Did he have them concealed? In some areas they are not considered concealed unless they are hidden on your person. I do not believe concealed was the issue in driving them across the USA. Many states allow you time to take different things across borders. The article did not say he broke any US laws, which I think they would have done. Is he not an ex Marine? Maybe he has different rules that apply to him? There is not a gun ban in any state that I know of if you are licensed or permitted to carry them.

You are exaggerating things a little with the Guantanamo statement.

I live in Mexico. Mexico is more far less strict on illegal immigration and other matters than Mexico. Get caught in Mexico working without a permit, or not having your tourist or other visa and see what happens. You will be arrested or pay a bribe if needed. They are not the master race, but rather more lenient then any other country in the word. They also allow more immigrants to become citizens then the largest countries in the world combined. And yes they did let the armed soldiers off, and permitted them cross back into Mexico. They apparently believed them of gave them at least the benefit of the doubt. Buy the way American is not a race, it is a country. Very strange responses you put up!

I agree, a troll. Better to say things that will help and be constructive. Point out problems and accomplishments and ways to fix or achieve good things. No country is perfect! It is usually the fault of the governments. They do not seem to know how to handle our tax money.

Here is an interesting link to this incident. I thought the same thing could have been done as I mentioned the incidents of soldiers crossing from Mexico and being released without much fanfare.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2014/05/24/mexican-...

In all fairness how often is this really happening. Americans crossing into Mexico with arms and selling them. The USA has been more than lenient on illegal crossings, and have even let women with kids return without prosecution when found carrying drugs. Just given a stern warning and taking away their visas. Many people are set up by the traffickers, when drugs are put in their cars according to the them. Many times the border patrol makes a decision and returns them without prosecuting them, even after they did cross legally with contraband.

Maybe incidents like this happen so little that they make a big deal out of it for some reason. I have had a Delegado believe me in the Transito after talking to me here on a traffic incident. I refused to pay up on the street, to the officer for something I did not do. The delgado and attorney knew mordida was being taken, and they all said they believed me. They even went as far as to say that it was the culture. It is expected here. He also said that the Governor had said he did not want the traffic police giving out minor infractions to Americans, as they want them to return. The Delgado was educated, very well spoken and he knew what was happening. So good things do happen at times on both sides of the border.

I believe this was not handled well by Mexico. He would have not made a lot more money on these weapons if he sold them in Mexico. Gun sales are hot in the USA now, and they bring top dollar. Would not be worth the risk selling a few guns in Mexico for a couple of extra bucks.

I've heard several opinions about this situation on the radio. Some say this guy was looking for trouble because there is no way you can accidentally end up at that checkpoint and others say he had no choice. I don't know. I've never been there.

What I do know is that I stay in my own country. WTF wants to go to Mexico? For what? What's there that isn't here?

My employer wanted to try Mexico for a vacation. When he got back, he swore it was his worst vacation yet. He said it was dirty, people always trying to sell you something or otherwise beg for money, Mexicans were rude to him and his wife, it was just terrible.

No thanks, I'll stay right here in the US. If I feel the need to experience a little Mexico, I'll stop at the drive-thru at Taco Bell.

I agree, I would never go.....and people are really naive if they think they'll be ok over there. BOYCOTT, BOYCOTT, BOYCOTT until the marine comes home. OR LINE UP THE BORDERLINE WITH ILLEGALS AND MARCH THEM BACK, WHERE THEY SHOULD BE ANYWAY. I bet the mexican prez. would personally get involved AND ORDER him sent to the US.

We treat our illegal Mexican prisoners better than Mexico treats an American who crossed their checkpoint with a couple of guns but no other crime. Here, our President lets illegals walk free right back out into our streets including murderers, rapists and robbers. There? A guy claimed to have made a wrong turn.

Really?

I don't know if you've noticed but not even fox news is claiming he stopped at a border crossing, told the people there he had gotten lost and told them he had guns in the car.

Every complaint he has is about how they reacted after they had found multiple weapons in his vehicle. Sounds pretty illegal to me.

Also, if all he did was get lost, surely his family would have made a big deal out of how he was legally carrying all those guns in the first place, even before he crossed the border.

Have they?

Fox news, what? Fox news is backing our marine.....Bill O'Rielly, Greta, Hannity all of them want us to sign the petition to bring him home. Please sign it, I can........would appreciate it ! I'll tell you this "o" would have intervened if the marine were black. You notice how big butt michelle intervened with the kidnapped Nigerian girls ? with her stupid sign "Bring our girls home" what ???? they're not even OUR American girls, WHO CARES ?? Our American citizens COME FIRST......be it white, black or polka dotted Americans should come first BUT THIS IS NOT SO with the present US dictatorship.

That's different. If Moochelle had 300 more daughters, they would look like those kidnapped girls.
