Minnesota same-sex marriage fight re-energized -- on both sides

May 20, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: CNN

Minneapolis is a conflicted city. It's home to one of the largest gay pride festivals in the Midwest and was once dubbed the "gayest city in America" by The Advocate magazine.

The article talks about the Roman Catholic Church as if it was the only church that had a strong influence in MN. The other denomination is the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). There are six synods in MN. Every year the synods meet in Assembly. Five out of the six synods have met. All of them passed resolutions urging the defeat of the issue. All but one of them by wide margins (over 75%).

The declining, post Christian ELCA sect involves fewer than 14% of the people in MN, and many of them no longer have any meaningful contact with the sect.

I'm a church-going ELCA Lutheran born and raised. For those of you who might be unaware of ELCA and it's policies, ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) is the LARGEST Lutheran denomination in the U.S., and in North America. And ELCA allows gay and lesbian pastors, and gay and lesbian people to be married in the church.

And as a PROUD openly gay member of my church, "St. Paddy's 2nd Reformed German Lutheran Church and Microbrewery Of Oro Valley",(We had to buy TWO signs to fit that name !) I can tell you that WE have the BEST Communion Beer you'll ever have !

Wisdom is wisdom. Christians learn from the Old Testament. Jesus quoted the Old Testament. The New Testament confirms the specific acts of sodomites that are condemned in both Old and New. The same realities of disease, death and destruction of society occurred in the Old Testament as are occurring today because of the filthy behavior of sodomites.

Okay you stupid, racist filth, you want to take the New Testament literally. Fine. See that you do so.

Except you just have a homosexual fixation. You don't run around telling people they must pass laws based on 95% of the dictates in the buybull - only the homosex scare parts. And you won't follow the New Testament literally, either.

The fact that you won't follow other dictates in the "literal" New Testament illustrates your mental disorder of homophobia.

"Women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says." (1 Corinthians 14:34)

"Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair it is a disgrace to him, but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For her hair is given to her as a covering." Instead being preoccupied with your fairy tales, why don't you think about this:
Homosexuality is found in over 450 species. Homophobia is found in only one. Which one seems unnatural now?

You need to re read. Maybe to get to an A.A. meeting, I don't know.

I agree. Also, the Pope is the head of a church. For the U.S. to have diplomatic relations with a particular church, and NO OTHER religious organization, is a violation of the First Amendment AND the constitutional principle of the "separation between church and state". In fact, for far more than 100 years, there was a FEDERAL LAW BARRING U.S. diplomatic relations with the Vatican. Congress passed this law precisely BECAUSE of the reasons I stated above.

But under the Reagan administration, because of the [open] secret deal that Reagan made with the Pope, Reagan (a Protestant) persuaded congress to repeal that federal law and to appropriate money and other things to allow diplomatic relations with the Vatican.

Because it obviously IS a violation of the First Amendment and the constitutional principle of the "separation between church and state", I think that we should NOT have diplomatic relations with The Vatican.

Your silly myths are just that. your doomsday scenarios are just myths too. homosexuals have always been around in the same numbers so to say they are now causing something is ridiculous logic, but that is the only kind you know.

I shake my head. It's spine-chilling and bone-chilling. The news media treat with "respect" the antigay position. The news media would never, never, never dare to treat a racist position with respect, or a misogynist one. Etc.

I have a theory as to why they're doing this that I'm happy to repeat as often as I feel necessary.

Because "freedom of religion" is enshrined into the constitution, people make a subconscious (or far worse, a conscious) mistake in believing *every "religious" view is sacrosanct*. If the view is "religious," it must hold legitimacy.

This is horrifyingly false.

The news media are -- stop and think for a sec -- too AFRAID to stand against these bigots. That's what is so horrifying and makes them look so bad.

No, they've increased in numbers because of pollution and focused predation. The only myth now is that homosexuals are not intrinsically self destructive, cowardly and crippled.

Yet there's you, like a talking pussy on the one side and a gaping asshole on the other, pretending you're somehow "moral" or "educated." What I have realized and what brings me LITERALLY ENDLESS joy is that the antigay -- YOU, people just like you -- are absolutely goddamn FURIOUS that people see you as the problem and see you as amoral filth. The world, so the antigay "logic" goes, should be recognizing your contributions to society and your supposedly wonderful, sensible, fair, justice-inspired assessments of gay people in this country and elsewhere.

You sound like a sociopath who has no moral code to speak of, and if you think I say that lightly, I gravely, gravely advise you to think again. I have come to believe that the antigay *have no moral code whatsoever*; want a list of the reasons, champ? I can list 'em off without blinking. I have *watched* you people and I have concluded BASED ON LOGIC AND FACT that you don't give a crap about morality or any moral code to speak of.

Yet you want to be treated like anything but a dumbass whose life is worthless and whose legacy is filth.

Go back to your antigay pig trough and cry with the other pigs, you abusive loser.
