How the Senate became the House, in 4 steps

Nov 21, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Washington Post

So, how did the "world's greatest deliberative body" turn itself into something closely resembling the majority-rules raucousness and party-line posturing of the House? The change didn't happen fast.

The republicans forced this move; and I whole-heartedly applaud it.‘We the People’ elected this President because we wanted the type of judges that he would appointed to lifetime positions on the court.
Even better was the way the republicans have been crying over this all afternoon, LOL… I love it.

As more and more Obamacare horror stories come to light, and the Presidents approval rating tanks, liberals here on Topix have taken a notable hiatus.

But like 'Obama behaving badly' gets lauded by his bots, we'll all be treated to likewise comments about Reid's nuclear option.

And never mind the hypocrisy.

Obama in 2005...

"I recognize that the filibuster can be used for unfortunate purposes. However, I am also aware that the Founding Fathers established the filibuster as a means of protecting the minority from the tyranny of the majority -- and that protection, with some changes, has been in place for over 200 years."

As John Kerry would say, Harry Reid was for the filibuster before he was against it.

What happens when the Republicans take control of the senate? You love this. Then the totalitarian state that is our future will give you orgasms. These men and women who rule in Washington are purely agenda driven evil scum with no concerns for the people. When the Repubs come back to power we will see how they are again. Their voters are tired of the kizz assing to progressives. Anyway biblical scripture tells you that men become "blinded to their own desires" and that is what we are doing and have done. We have gutted principles for agenda based satisfactions. Getting freedom and living better then most in the world is one thing. Keeping it is another.

The only logical thing to do is have Obama declare marshal law and take control until he decides the country is safe. He and Harry Reid can just 'appoint' our representatives for us.

Thank you, Senator Reid. You have just handed the Senate, and the House to the Republicans next year, and the Oval office in 2016. And with the new rules just put in place the Republicans can rule with an Iron Hand. One thing the Dictator in Chief cannot do is stop our elections, and America isn't set up for a dictatorship. What the Democrats did yesterday was a power grab never known in America. We don't have a tribal Chief, and we won't have one no matter what the Kenyan kid thinks. He was too incompetent, and untrustworthy to lead a Representative Government, so he took over the Tribe. It will only work for the next 13 months. Thank you. Thank you. We won't have to put up with this incompetent boob for 3 more years after all, only for 13 months.

Most of the safeguards, the checks and balances have been removed from our government. This was one that was smart to have as people vote differently from one election cycle to the next and it guaranteed that one party could not force its "agenda" through. Power comes full circle and progressive Dems will rue this one. This is like dealing with the mob.

If the Rethugs keep running these losers, they never will again.

Did you see all five elected state official in VA are now Dems? VA used to be a swing state - it is now solid blue. Rethugs keep nominating extremists like the Cooch - they will never win the Senate again.

The GOP was not using the filibuster to prevent majority tyranny. They were using it to prevent the majority from doing their job of approving judges.

If you have a principled stand on an issue and want to fight it, go ahead.

"We don't want you to seat any judges" is not a principled stand; it's just obstructionism.

The reason so many more of Obama's appointments have be held up compared to other presidents is that Obama's appointments are as inept as the rest those in his Administration.

The Obama Administration and his minions are hypocrites for what they said in the past and what they now do.

Harry Reid has given you a new reality to ponder. 2014........

Remember in the movie Independence Day where the humans infiltrated the alien mother ship to plant a nuke and as they hit the "send" button to activate it the skull and crossbones came on laughing? Picture the GOP as the skull and crossbones laughing when Harry Reid gloated over erasing 225 years of healthy debate and minority party dissent.

2014........ Bye,see ya later..... Nothing but love........

Please tell me what the specific problems with the last 3 DC Circuit court nominees were. How were they inept?
