He is correct in saying that Republicans want to deal with immigration. The problem is that the American people will not accept amnesty on the scale that every form of "immigration reform" includes and Republicans know that is doubly true for thier voting base.
While I do not trust or like Boehner he is correct that any reform should be piecemeal starting with increased enforcement and penalties for employing illegals and improvements aimed at the legal immigration system to help those who immigrate legally.
That way the American people can support or reject each change by voicing their opinions to their representatives. The same should have been done with health care reform so that each part of the "reform" could be reviewed by not only Washington but the American people as well. When somebody tries selling you a package deal that you have to agree to immediately without being able to read the fine print it is usually a scam. When politicians do it it is always a scam.

The senate version has been laying around for two years. Isnt that time enough to review and debate a proposal?

It has been reviewed and that is why it is laying around. Why are it's supporters afraid to voting on "immigration reform" that does not include an open amnesty for illegal aliens and those who employ, encouraged and exploit them?
We keep hearing the excuse that people come here illegally because it is so difficult to do so legally yet the same people using that excuse refuse to allow changes to immigration laws without granting amnesty to those who broke the law.

So what is your point? As I said it is being blocked because of the fact that mass amnesty is bad for the country and its citizens and thankfully there are a few people left in Washington that actually represent the American people and not the wealthy few who want cheap labor.
The immigration system needs some changes aimed at helping honest people who want to immigrate to the U.S. but granting amnesty to millions of criminals will have the same results as the 1986 amnesty and every amnesty since, an increase in illegal immigration, the lowering of wages, the lowering of the quality of life and an increase in taxes to support them.

Point is this is going to require compromise. I read what you want, but you didnt win the election and are forced to compromise

I do not understand what you mean by "you did not win the election". I did not run for office so how could I win and how can I be forced to compromise?
Granting amnesty to criminals in order to change immigration laws to help honest immigrants is not a compromise, it is extortion.

If that is true she has no answers. Rahm in Chicago has pulled back from the progressive dreams of utopia that does not exist. He is in fact, in the way of real progress that only a conservative can make. So will Hillary. Thank gaia if she is elected that her presidency will be the last baby boomer idiot in office. Oh for four we will be then. Only a conservative can get us out of this mess and some pain will be part of the prescription. Of course the real inflation is high now but the 99% media does not say a word. The consumer knows.

Just read that Bill Clinton stated it took 6 months for Hillary to recover from a concussion! This woman is special needs now! If we elect a deficient person who has achieve nothing in real terms except to be a coat tail licker, we deserve to be put into the dustbin of history. Purchase your weapons fencewalkers!
