"Conflict with constitutional protections"?<quoted text>
'The facts are the facts: some judges are making decisions deferring to Shariah law even when those decisions conflict with Constitutional protections. This is a serious issue and should be a subject of public debate and engagement by policymakers.'
You didn't cite one instance of a violation.
The people you refer to, entered and signed a contract weather they claim not to understand it or not, they signed it and the courts have to uphold the contract that was signed, would you be bitching from a different angle if the U.S. courts nullified the contract.
The U.S. courts have to take a signed document by both parties into consideration, even if it is from a "foreign" court.
You then would have anarchy within not only the U.S. court system but in courts all over the world.
