The first I heard of the Tea Party was in February, 2009. My daughter and I drove by a rather large group holding signs in Ridgefield, Ct...and there were people with tea bags hanging from hats and dressed in Colonial costumes. They were protesting the bail-out (TARP) and the newly proposed cash for clunkers. I doubt Obama had been in office for three weeks at the time. An article in the local paper stated that it was the groups second protest that had a larger than expected turnout.
While they were unhappy with the government handing out tax payer dollars to save businesses, TARP was Bush, not Obama.

Yeah, just a unique coincidence, that the first black President takes office, and a National Protest group is formed, and later funded by corporate interests(Koch brothers) and the far right of the GOP....unique coincidence.....

Good! Even more of these obstructionist Republicans will be kicked out in 2014 and 2016, and just like with this election they will never get a clue and won't wise-up. They'll keep spouting their same losing strategies preaching to their choir.

<quoted text>Since Obama is dead set to drive off the cliff so he can then blame Republicans for the mess he caused is a simple ploy of the old swithcheroo gambit. Only children and morons will believe what is being pumped up there rectum. All Obama has to do is say it's candy, what some more.
The switcheroo gambit? Do you mean like the one the republicans pulled when they destroyed the economy during the last presidency then turned around and threw the presidential race (by running Palin on the ticket with MCCAIN)? They figured they could blame everything on the democrat... and a black one no less (bonus!)? They would have got away with it too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids!(there's a scooby doo reference for you). Jokes aside... It was a brilliantly executed move, honestly. The only trouble is they didn't count on America seeing through all their bullshit. They figured taking it all back in '12 was going to be a cinch. Who's laughing now?

Progressives are not compassionate?
"compassionate conservatives" are the ones who see wisdom in wasting $5 trillion of our tax dollars, and the lives of 2,000 young americans, to look for non-existent, imaginary WMD's in Iraq - and pay for it by selling paper to China.

The Republcans will do nothng to stop the President from going over the cliff, then the Democrats own the consequences. Give them everything they want. The failure wlll give Republicans the 2014 election, more Senators, and Congressmen.

It's so sad when a so-called "American" like you cheers for the rich and the corporate class so blatantly and shamelessly that you prefer THEIR success to the success of the average American, and to our country.

Let's forget about YOU and your crazy rants, instead.

The ordinry Americans take care of themselves, and they are successful. It is Obama's pitiful, his needy greedy, that cannot do anything to take care of themselves. And we can no longer afford to take care of them with flat screen TVs, cell phones, free medical, and housing. They must do something for their keep. They hav become useless to society other then to keep the cigarette factories, and breweries going.

Yeah, well since your predictions about the 2012 elections were so off-the-wall ........ your post can only mean that in 2 years the Dems will take the House and elect more Senators.
