Paul Ryan's Plan: Rebooting Compassionate Conservatism

Jul 25, 2014 Full story: WERC-AM Birmingham 59

After traveling around the country for the last year to better understand what works to combat poverty, Republican Rep. Paul Ryan now has a 'discussion draft' with the key ideas he thinks can help the poorest Americans get ahead, and where the federal government has a role.

EVERY single member of Congress, including Catholic-Freemason Paul Ryan, knows Obama has NEVER been an American citizen much less 'natural-born'.

Don't drink Paul Ryan's new flavor Kool Aid. It's the same old formula repackaged with the hope it will sell better. Ryan keeps beating the "austerity at the expense of the neediest to serve the economic interests of the wealthy elite" drum. "Voucherizing" our social safety net would be a giant step toward destroying it completely, which is clearly Paul Ryan's evil intent.

Sorry politicians

my compassion meter and wallet are both on EMPTY

you rich aszhats pay for all this poverty and strife because of your
policies I will soon be in the line with my hand out because you
and your taxes are putting me in poverty. The poverty line is based
on gross earnings BEFORE you politicians take out your 20-30% for city-stat-federal income tax, SS taxes, medicare taxes, workers comp etc.

Then, when I have to spend what I have left over in order to live, some gubbmint takes 7-9% sales tax, fuel and surtaxes, property taxes on property that isn't even mine yet ( I owe 25 yrs on a 30yr mortgage) how about making the billionaire banker pay part of the property tax, they own it till I pay it off). After all the taxes are out I am lucky to take 40% of my net and actually spend it. If $15k is the poverty line, anyone making $35k is in poverty after giving 60% of it back to the gubbmint.

A "compassionate conservative" is someone who feels sorry for the poor but won't give a dime to help them.

I believe it's possible to be a compassionate conservative, meaning an economic and/or social conservative who has the decency not to respond to the poor or others in need of a helping hand by throwing them mercilessly into a pit filled with poisonous snakes and believing that they deserve such treatment.

Nothing about Paul Ryan even hints at compassion as he persistently repackages his plan to destroy our social safety net in a concerted effort to find out if he can misrepresent its intent well enough that the public might actually buy it. He knows what he's doing and it's purely evil because it would completely disenfranchise the poor. He boasts of homage to Ayn Rand but reeks of Marie Antoinette — except he's mean, not just ignorant like her.

Ryan comically sought to disavow his loyalty to Ayn Rand once he learned she was an atheist. However, he fails to realize that, whether or not heaven exists, he won't make the cut.

Technically, anyone earning $35,000 after their standard tax deduction isn't paying more than $300.00 in federal income taxes. Federal income taxes gives you allowances for local and state taxes paid.

Unless, of course, heaven is a cooperation run by a god who's in the upper 0.1% income bracket.

How can he get all the GOP on board with compassion, when they are calling for the massive slaughter of thousands of children showing up on our borders because of a humanitarian crisis? Where will he find compassion, with the GOP attempts to push the middle class further into abject poverty, and give the wealth of our nation to a handful of wealthy? Where will he find GOP compassion for anyone not in the top 1% of wealth distribution?

I suppose this will probably mean a new tact by Fox News to tell us they are compassionate to those whom those children would have stolen jobs from.

The GOP is against food stamps, health care for all, student loan reform, unemployment extensions and anything they determine to be a hand out, or what they call entitlement. They were against Medicare, and Social Security and continue to want to "reform" these programs in such a way as to destroy them, which is their ultimate goal. Give me a break about compassion!!! The only compassion they have is for the wealthy.

I'll have to consult with Rev. Harlan Pritchett, our renown local spiritual leader, compound director and King James Bible expert about the true meaning of the popular slogan and favored church family greeting, "Jesus saves." I know he likes to use it on some of his more prominently placed billboards that he erects to offer comfort to weary travelers passing through on their way back home down south on the two Interstate highways that cross paths here in the greater Cincinnati area. Just north of Cincinnati is the City of South Lebanon, where most folks display crosses in their front yards that say "Jesus saves" or just "Jesus" in bright red letters. I think that's what they mean by good news, and as with Fox the news never changes.
