<quoted text>You really think the current iteration of the GOP would accept Christie? would they tear him down like they did Romney before finally admitting he is the only viable candidate, but by then was too damaged by his own party...
didn't they do the same to Mccain? the GOP needs some serious help. it would be best for Christie to run as an independent. tying oneself to the GOP these days is political suicide...
I have to agree with you, but will Americans ever have the cojones to vote for a third party? I keep saying the Libertarian party needs an information campaign and (in the words of a friend) go grass roots. So many of us are aligned with their philosophy without really realizing it. But yes, the GOP has severed it's own head.

why would you think a third party would be any different from the two we have?

Great choice, though I'd still like to see Christie on the ticket if we can't come up with a strong Libertarian.
Sorry he leans to far left. His ideas on gun control suck. He is a strong speaker I will give him that but the tea party and the gop right will not get behind him. I don't think.

I don't know if they would, but it sure as heck isn't working the way it is now. What's the alternative? We have a guy in the white house right now trying to turn this into a dictatorship, and that's not working! We have the GOP caving in and not sticking to the basics of the party, and we have the dems who couldn't balance a checkbook to save their lives. None of it is working, and it's killing the middle class. It's time for a Libertarian or Independent to come in, dump able bodied people and illegal immigrants off welfare, shut the effin borders, quit playing world police, keep their hands off our moral issues and health care, and run this country the way a business should be run.

What's your solution?

Republicans have abandoned their conservative base. As a true conservative, when it comes to general election time I'm stuck voting for some wimpy republican that will still send us in the wrong direction only at a slightly slower pace. If a third more conservative party is thrown in the mix, and we lose, we really aren't out that much. Maybe after a few cycles the third party will gain voters who are like-minded individuals.

To heck with the tea party. They let themselves be destroyed by the GOP, and they lost all influence and also lost sight of what they really stood for. That's just my opinion, of course ;)

yeah, as much as i see the flaws in this current administration, Obama is in no way attempting to turn the US into a dictatorship. that is an entirely unrealistic view of the real world facts.

the problem with the GOP is they have run off the far right with the evangelical sect and lost touch with what true conservatism is.

yes, they clearly have as the last election cycle showed. and their 'autopsy' gave them the brilliant idea to "rebrand" themselves! not actuall change the far right evangelical crap that clearly turned them off from the US electorate that used to be their base, but to just change how they market this already proven failed message.

they cannot see their failure when it is staring them in the face.

Really? What do you call the enforcement of a health care system that has been wrought with issues from the get-go and fought against all along the way? What do you call penalties when one doesn't buy something the government has chosen to sell?

Running off the far right radical evangelicals is not a bad thing. Losing their conservative base is.

Lol we could be the most hated and loved, racist/non-racist administration this country has ever seen. But dam**t, we could turn this place around for the better! Whew, I may have confused myself.
