Democrats pretend they had nothng to do with the mess we are in. The first 2 years the Kenyan Kid was President Pelosi, and Reed ran the House, and Senate. Unions weren't the only organizations who offered Defined Benefit Pension programs........ Much is possible in New York, it's Mafia run. I'm sure there is plenty of thieving going on in New York. It's home to Bernie Madoff of all people.

Fair and balanced Pensions are a very good thing.
Maybe you don't have "pension spiking" in Virginia.
It is the practice in NY and CA where Democrats trade wildly excessive Public Sector Pension schemes for campaign support. It may be in effect in some other States too.
It is one of the primary reasons why any American with an emotional attachment to their own children and grand children will not vote for another Union Hack who pretends to be a "democrat" at election time in the so called Blue States.

You can recall the Democrat Majority the first two years, but your mind is absent the 51 Republican Filibusters in the Senate, that stalled and obstructed all legislation in an attempt to ensure President Obama is a one term President and you've negated the importance of Scott Brown coming to Congress in Jan 2010 to rack up those 51 Filibusters.
More of that convenient amnesia hun? What's with the "Forgetfullness" in the Republican Party?

Go easy Eric. All you all need is one more Justice on the SCOTUS and it is GAME OVER for ALL American non Union working families and their Employers. Try not to embarrass your parents by being so Smug. It is not a quality admired in adult men.

None since the GREAT President Bush's Patriot Act tore down the Clinton/Gorelick wall and now allows law enforcement agencies such as the FBI and CIA to share vital updated terrorists info and also because of President Bush's tough on terrorists policies such as waterboarding which led to the capture and killing of Bin Laden.

Unions weren't the only organizations to have Defined Benefit Pension programs. Defined Benerfit pension plans were standard across America before Ronald Reagan. After Reagan's open assault on organized labor and unions, and changes to the pension law, Defined Benefit pension programs were swamped for 401K plans, but 401K were devised to be supplemental to defined pension plans, they were never intended to be the primary vehicle. Your employer could offer a plan, or you could arrange to set up an account at your bank or credit union.
You should know damn well that all of this was not designed to let an aging person live the life of Riley until he/she was 90 or older in an independent setting. We lived off our peak years from the end of World War 2 to approximately the early 1970's. Independence shot up as a transfer of wealth not seen in history occurred. With the last link to gold extinguished the fed printed money like it went out of style. And it needed to as the great society programs along with the viet nam war and apollo project bills started rolling in during the 1970's malaise. We ares still paying for those debts and ones before that. The boomers came in like a tsunami with added revenues to keep this going. But now the boomers are aging and their spending has slowed down and government policies have helped to make many of them poorer with massive added pressure on the social security and medicare systems coming into view. there will not be nearly as much independence by the elderly 20 years out from now. And that is also bad news for a lot of other things like housing. The economic system mightily wants deflation, but the fed is printing money to inflate. Because in the end an item that is worth a nickel but costs a dollar due to our money system, will return to that at some point. The retirement systems you wrote will not be worth anything near what the current collectors have received and they will turn out to be known as the lucky generation in the history books. Any government that increase taxes on its aging base as they are limping into retirement is purely evil. And that cess pool in the area you live is that exactly.

THat's not cutting Congressional salaries; it only delays the payment of their salaries.

They would still get their full annual salary.

We can only hope Scalia and/or Kennedy die or retire soon!

Rumor has it Kennedy will step down from the court after voting for marriage equality in Jun.

I can't wait for Obama to make the SCOTUS a 6-3 solid liberal majority for the next 30 years!

That's the main reason millions of Americans voted to re-elect him.

??? You are still trying to defend bush??? LOL. I guess you simply don't care if any Americans have any freedom at all.

I always laugh at those who claim the prisoners in Guantanamo were allowed to talk to bin laden on the phone to get all the information about how to kill bin laden. Of course Osama would call up prisoners and tell them everything.

As far as Obama's illegal unconstitutional activity, I would suggest that extending the Pat Act was about the worst thing he could do.

No, it just means I am able to prioritize what is most important.

I also understand the President & Congress have very little effect on the overall economy. Both parties run up trillion dollar debts and get us involved in unnecessary wars.

So I vote on the issues which the President has the most control over- i.e. SCOTUS nominations.

No, but Hagel and a host of other Obama appointees are die hard republicans. Much of Obama's actions support republican policies and give nothing to his base. I just want him to at least give a morsel to his base once in a while.
