A historic vote Thursday in the Minnesota House positioned that state to become the 12th in the country to allow gay marriages and the first in the Midwest to pass such a law out of its Legislature.

Great ! Hopefully, the Senate will pass teh bill next week and teh governor will sign it into law.

Which state will be next ?!

:)

And I seriously doubt that with so many states passing marriage equality laws, that SCOTUS will rule that DOMA is constitutional (it obviously isn't, as it violates the 1st Amendment, the 10th Amendment, and the 14th Amendment).

From the article:

" ... "There are kids being raised by grandparents, single parents, two moms or two dads," said Rep. Laurie Halverson, a Democrat from a suburb south of St. Paul. "Some of those folks are my friends. And we talk about the same things as parents. We talk about large piles of laundry, and how much it hurts to step on a Lego. That's what we do, because we're all families."

So true.

According to NOM; there are four states on the 2013 target list:
.
Delaware - Now an equality state
Rhode Island - Now an equality state
Minnesota - next week
Illinois - cat's tail
.
Looks like Illinois will be the only one left on NOM's target list; and the year is yet to reach the halfway point
