No, single payer universal coverage would take care of all that, plus lower the cost, while improving our economy. The only people who don't want it, are those in the health insurance industry who stand to lose billions, and those whom they have purchased with lobbyists and marketing.

Do you actually think our government is capable of running anything? When there is money involved, it's a sure bet that our government will spend more of it than they have, get the least return for it and alot of the money will just plain disappear and then be explained by an accounting trick. Trusting these bufoons with money is the same as trusting Madoff, maybe worse.

Yes, I think we are capable of doing things well. We have done things well in the past, and before the GOP decided to kill government we did a number of things well. For example, take the poison pill away from the Post Office, where they have to put money in the bank this year for all pensions coming due in the next 70 years and they make a profit, even with less than 40 cents a letter, while the private companies doing the same thing, charge over $10.00.

Social Security has plenty of money and could easily increase payments and lower the age of retirement, which they should.

Take the GOP out of government and most of the fraud and waste goes away.

Trusting the private sector is even worse as they have proven.
