Feds in NY bring criminal charges against hedge fund SAC Capital

The hedge fund operated by embattled billionaire Steven A. Cohen made hundreds of millions of dollars illegally and allowed unprecedented and pervasive insider trading to go unchecked for years, federal prosecutors said in an indictment unsealed Thursday.

Other insider traders that go free:

Nancy Pelosi
Harry Reid
Lyod Blankfein
Jamie Dimon
Marcus Agius and Bob Diamond of Barclay's for the LIBOR scandal
John Corzine
Spencer Bauchus
The treasure island boys (NJ desk of the London Whale scandal)

And there is many many many more suspected, but, are being protected. I would conclude by Obama's repeal of the Stock Act, he is probably involved in some insider trading as well.

Holy crap. The US Attorneys found an inside trader AND want to prosecute him. Every so often, even a blind pig finds an acorn.

While Nancy Pelosi was working on the credit card fee legislation about 3 years ago, she was buying into a VISA IPO that was released to "preferred" investors and not the general public.

After the legislation passed, she made millions.

If you have money in the stock market and you don't have insider information, you are being robbed. Of course the GOP wants to make sure there is no government regulation so those who do have insider information can continue robbing you blind.

You're right but keep in mind that some democrats are involved too. Members of congress have access to information that is not available to the public. Holder has repeatedly refused to prosecute several wall street banksters who should be serving long prison terms! The corruption in DC is appalling.

You are correct of course. It is not just republicans. The analogy I draw is the GOP are bank robbers and the democrats are the guards at the bank. The guards open the doors for the robbers, make sure no one interferes with the robbery in progress, and the guards then open the doors for the robbers on the way out, while they cart off with all the cash. In some ways that makes the democrats worse. We know the republicans are crooks, and the democrats have the duty and responsibility to stop them, instead they enable the theft and make sure there is no prosecution of the criminals. From what I have seen, not one single democrat has stepped forward to prosecute the many horrific crimes of the bush administration. Instead they seem to be continuing those very policies.

So clearly, while the republicans are crooks, the democrats are complicit in the crimes as well.

I doubt it. I suspect they are simply looking for "campaign donations."
