Some folks like to drink themselves into an early grave.
Some folks like to smoke themselves into an early grave.
Some do it with drugs.
Some do it with food.

Whatever turns them on.
People have a right to pick their poison.
Trouble is, these bad habits, especially the drinking
and smoking, cost society billions of dollars
per year in damages that the users never own up to.
These addicted, thoughtless people just go on their merry
ways leaving a path death and destruction behind them
that others have to clean up for them..

we all are going to die of something, doesn't matter what it is, end of life care is expensive. Yours will be too. One of the unintended consequences of coercing so many to quit smoking is extended lives of those who have quit, stressing SS and the healthcare system. I quit and I'll live to 90, costing taxpayers a lot of money.

Wow, that's heavy, man.

Still siting the scientifically debunked second hand smoke bullsh!t? There isn't a single death certificate that lists second hand smoke as cause of death or illness.

Or that every disease in the world is caused by cigarette smoking?

Do you know that over half of those who smoke will never get a smoking related disease?

Have you ever noticed that when a non smoker gets pancreatic or stomach cancer, doctors say they don't know what causes it, but if a smoker gets the same, it's caused by smoking? If it was caused by smoking, than why do so many non smokers get those diseases, too?

Do you know that over 20% of patients who get lung cancer (slightly higher percentages in women and rising) have never smoked cigarettes? That many of those who suffer from emphysema and COPD have never smoked cigarettes?

Do you have any idea how many drug addicts are clogging up our ER's, psyche units and ICU's? Any idea of how many hundreds of thousands of them end up with lifelong brain, heart, lung and gastrointestinal diseases by the time they're in their twenties? That many of them, hundreds of thousands, end up on Medicaid and Social Security disability and have Medicare paying for their care, their keep and paying for the doctors and the drugs they require?

Do you know how much crime, larceny, thievery, car jackings, stabbings, drive-by shootings and gang related killings are caused by the drug problem in this country, both by dealers and by desperate, strung out, drug sick junkies, desperate for a fix? How many families are destroyed, how many children end up abused, killed by parents whacked out on God knows what, orphaned or taken into state custody because of drugs?

Do you know that the use of heroin is currently skyrocketing, because it's so much cheaper than prescription opiates?

Yeah, let's crack down on those smokers, because we haven't got any far more serious or costly problems to worry about. Those foul smelling people are the absolute scourge of society. But we'll celebrate our newly legalized ability to smoke pot.

Since second hand smoke from cigarettes has been proven in a THIRD major study not to have any adverse affects on others, people should be encouraged to blow smoke in some of these control freak's faces. The major study done by the World Health Organization showed that children raised in smoking homes were actually statistically buffered against smoking related cancers. Control freak Democrats have cut their own throats with significant declines in tax revenue. Now, they want to tax people for going to exercise spas and tax people for using electronic cigarettes to stop smoking. Control freak Democrats are not just silly and stupid; they are monsters.

This issue is really "first lady" material. In the past, the president concentrated on real issues like employment, trade, foreign policy.

Just saying.

Let's see the link to any of three studies you've cited stating second hand smoke damages no one.

Let's go, you made the claim - back it up!

This is gonna be fun!!!

The fact is cigarette smokers seem to think cigarette butts are exempt from litter laws and are incapable of even making sure they are out before throwing them out the windows of their hoopties.

I object to the second hand smoke from the forest fires these arrogant thoughtless people cause.

That alone is cause for a ban in my book.....
