Since Republicans don't want a solution to the problem, and are playing games with our economy for partisan reasons, there won't be any quick resolution.

Best we can hope for is another agreement to kick the can down the road aways. The GOP simply doesn't have America's interests at heart.

Giddyup!!!! Over the "cliff" we go.......

B.F.D. Taxes will go up a little and spending won't increase as much as it was supposed to.

Obviously the sheeple don't want to budget balanced or the debt paid off. All they want is their 2 shekels.

The GOP has put plan after plan on the table and Reid would not bring it to the floor of the Senate. The Dems wanted the Reps to take the blame for this but the people have already seen what Obama has done by NOT WORKING WITH THEM. As he said = his way or no way. Let him explain to the people why he is such a jackass. He tries to make us think he is doing all he can for us middle class when America is BROKE and he gives all the politicians a RAISE IN PAY. This is BS - THE POLITICIANS ARE THE LAST TO DESERVE A PAY RAISE.

The trouble is its both party,s. The middle class producing & manufacturing jobs are indeed gone. A big part of the reason for the job loss was high production cost. now the us companys for many decades could compete with the wage disparity between us workers & third world places. So lets not place a lot of blame on unions. The higher cost of US labor was offset by the cost of foriegn goods shipping & tarriffs. When costly environmemtal laws and free trade agreements where passed and enacted (by both party,s) the Exidious began. Those who couldnt or wouldnt relocate to other countries went out of buisness. Why would out elected officials from both GOP & DEM partys do this to the US working class? I believe the answer is That the UN and NWO thinks the US middle class when compared to the rest of the world had much more than thier fair share. So the politicians who really only care about enriching themselves and furthuring the UN & NWO order are bought off or are misguided. Those political parasites voted for job killing legislation on puropse. Now that they completed that task & have robbed and redistrubuted the middle classes jobs & wealth. They are now going after those who are the so called rich and promoting class warfare. There doing the same tried & successful fair share arguement again. At the same time giving themselves huge pay raises. Never telling you that even if they tax & rob the rich at 100% they still wouldnt have enough money to fund the wasteful goverment spending. Why isnt the congress really addressing the jobs issue? Why dont they really do something about the illegal workers? Why dont they do something about the trade imbalance? Quit being a sheeple its not GOP=BAD or DEM =good its GOP+DEM = political parasite= BAD

One good thing will happen if we go over the cliff. The payroll tax holiday will expire. The payroll tax holiday reduced social security witholdings from about 7% to 4%. As a result in 2011 the social security ran in the red. yes in 2011 social security paid out more than it took in. Dumb move reduce social security revenue just as the first wave of the large numbers of baby boomers are set to retire?

Very good point. Most Americans
agree with President Obama's mission to destroy the American economy, increase unfundable entitlements, and increase the unemployment rate to 15%. Nothing lasts forever. It was time for America to plummet into hopelessness and despair.

Support the President. Call your Congress Member and remind them of your lust to fail.

Take about late realization. It was Reagan who destroyed the American economy. Wages and benefits for workers has fallen since he ruined our nation. It is hilarious that you are just now waking up to the ruination, and it's even funnier that you blame the democrats who fought against Reaganomics all the way.

The rich have been getting 20 to 50% raises annually since Reaganomics in 1980, while workers have lost income. What did the rich do to deserve it? They bought congress.

France’s 75% Income Tax on the Rich Overturned as Unconstitutional

Long-standing French clichés took a blow Dec. 29 from an unexpected decision by France’s constitutional watchdog. Not only did the Conseil Constitutionnel strike down the kind of new tax hikes that have made France infamous abroad. In doing so, the Conseil prohibited a pending 75% income-tax rise on France’s wealthiest people — another French fiscal move that has generated much negative attention around the world.

So why is it you feel on the replublicans are playing partisan games and not democrats? It appears that both sides have offered some type of settlement but neither will agree. That constitues partisan games by both sides. Just because Obama is a democrat and in power does not mean that he isn't playing the same game.

I don't agree with everything the republican way, but I do agree any tax increase should be matched with true spending cuts, not the perceived cuts of ending war. And from what I have read in proposed cuts, that is a joke. I say both sides come to an agrrement for minimal tax increase with adequate spending cuts. How much are we cutting foreign aide?

The whole point of the fiscal cliff is when the fiscal cliff is cleared and we jump over it, we are getting rid of all the accounting gimmicks, the temporary stings of things that allow Congress to pretend it's being fiscally responsible when it's not.

A lot of taxes will go up but taxes will go up on everybody, not injure the guy around the tree that's paying for everything but everyone will have to pay. And then folks will realize the government we are voting for costs us money too.

Trillion dollars deficits every year as far as the eye can see, that's a tax on our kids, our grandchildren, on people who have saved their whole lives and done the responsible things.

The liberals feel like they can have all this spending but not pay for it themselves. So going over the fiscal cliff, at least, we are all sharing in the responsibility of paying for the big government we seem to want.

It's ALL politics. Boehner's "Plan B" was what Pelosi had already suggested. This so-called president and his administration are not governing with OUR best interests in mind, they're governing for power and a left wing political agenda.

Most in the middle class became the upper middle class under Reagan, dopey. Google it. Enjoy the crow.

Clinton rode the coattails of Reagonmics..he was dragged kicking and screaming to cooperate with the republican congress elected in 94..then the jobs started coming again.

So, let the Republicans accept Obama's offer and the "cliff"
is avoided. No problema.
