Very moving and emotional Medal of Honor ceremony.....well televised by MSNBC and CNN....Yet Fox News ignored it and had on, Neil Cavuto bitching about the healthcare plan.....What does that say?

{President Obama awarded the Medal of Honor to 24 veterans Tuesday, most of whom were initially passed over because they were Hispanic, Jewish or African American.}

Obuma is sticking to White people again. Some of you don't get it because you're clueless. You won't know sh!t even if you stepped on it.

DId you BOTHER to see if Fox had it on? I saw the CMH presented to the three living recients on Fox. The rest of the awards presentations for the posthumous recipients was streamed to a link on their website.

Despite your blatently partisan hatred of Fox/Conservatism I agree that these presentations are always moving. The reading of the Citations speak of the valor these men exhibited as well as the dangers in which they performed the deeds that merited their recognition. Sadly,our military of the time mirrored society in matters of race/ethnicity. It is in this long overdue recognition that I hope we will never see such "lapses" occur again.

FYI: Many Medals for valor were often awarded to those who were career oriented or exhibit an interest in such. Officers,in particular,were chosen for Silver/Bronze stars that enlisted people doing the same feats recieve "Mention in Records" or DSCs.

There were instances where a particular unit was alloted a given number of various citations to be awarded. Also it wasn't uncommon for Awards Boards to downgrade Medals for Valor to lesser awards. Unfair but it happened.

The fox news had it on for a second until they saw that the people receiving the honor were people of color… then they quickly switched to a bunch of racist talking head White right-wingers to bash President Obama.
I watched that ceremony and was so proud… I loved it when one of the men who received looked at President Obama with so much pride and said thank you for all you’ve done… I have never been more proud of my country.

Thank God ‘We the People’ elected President Obama.

For his acts against American freedoms and our military Obama should be awarded The Medal of Dishonor.

The "Go for Broke" Regiment was unique in that it consisted of 1st and 2nd generation Japanese immigrants. Many of whom enlisted from internment camps. They felt they had more to prove than Blacks,Latinos or Jews. Which turned out they did. BEING of Japanese ancestry they felt a kind of guilt that Japan,the land of their heritage,attacked the US in the manner it did. Being AMERICANS they wanted to prove they were as American as any one else. THAT drove the valor of the 442nd. They took terrible casualties in the Italian campaign and later in Southern France. They earned the respect of the other units they fought alongside.

Veterans are used as political pawns by the chest beating puffed up right when it comes to closed monuments, not so much when it is honoring those veterans with long overdue medals.
