Well, first of all, I believe American voters have more common sense than that, except for those most devoted to the Fox/Limbaugh/Beck/Hannity insanity machine.
Of course, knowing that this is the case, the formerly GOP has gerrymandered voting districts in their favor as much as possible in those states with the most right wing extremist governors, and structured elections laws to make it difficult for citizens to vote against them. Due to these unfair practices that directly defy the basic values of American democracy, it is inevitable that some will get elected. However, they're on the wrong side of history, as demonstrated by their flying in the face of the values of the majority of Americans on most issues, and as a result will not enjoy extended tenure in significant numbers.
Simply stated, Americans will not tolerate a one-party dictatorship oligarchy of the wealthiest few and will prevail by voting in everyone's best interest.
Let us pray - or at least hope.

If Republicans capture the Senate, Obama will have to veto most of the right wing crap thrown at him by Congress. He'll have to do what he can by EXECUTIVE ORDER (!), to help the people of this nation. It would be a very sad time for America.

I remain hopeful that enough voters (despite the gerrymandering) see how the Republican party is bent on destroying our democracy, and handing over our country to the corrupt wealthy few.

If the Republicans pick up the 12 seats in the Senate one of their people are talking about, that will give them 57 seats. After Democrats see how many of them lost in 2014, they will join the Republicans in over riding vetoes to keep their seats in 2016. It is about the money. They can never get such a soft job making that much money,

Senate races are State wide elections. Gerrymandering is useless in Senate Races.

There are 35 seats in the Senate up for reelection. 23 of them are Democrats seats. I am sure Republicans can pick off enough to take back the Senate, and the House was never in jeopardy. Obamascam doesn't look any better today then it did last year. It won't look any better in November when we go to the polls. Democrats will pretend all is well with their scam, but you will know, and vote accordingly.
Last.election running against ACA Republicans loss seats in the Senate and House. You're delusional

It's impossible for the Republicans to capture the Senate unless you're counting McConnell, Flake, McCain, Graham, Hatch, Rubio and the rest of the neocon idiots as Republicans. This Senate is the worst assembly in the history of the USA. A clean sweep is needed

There are Democrat pollsters that see Republicans picking up 12 seats. The minorities can't make up for the irate independents, Republicans, and disgruntled Democrats. These 2014 numbers are better then the 2010 numbers were, and they aren't going to change unless ObamaScam becomes wonderful overnight. That ain't gonna happen!! Either you have been in a cave the last 6 months, or you are delusional.

Personally, I think the republicans are hell bent on destroying our socialist comune and replacing it with a representative federal republic, just like it used to be........like back in the days when we were a rich, forward thinking and prosperous nation working toward common goals.
all democrats and those that vote for them are doing these days is sticking their grubby little hands in the treasure chest and grabbing everything they can for themselves.

Personally, I'd prefer formalizing the oligarchy that now operates only covertly by installing
Sheldon Adelson as US Pope whose duty it is to canonize contenders to the US
Presidency by humiliating ring kiss in the kind of one party system to which tea partiers aspire. Americans for Koch Prosperity would, of course, replace the Treasury Department, just as NRA would replace the Department of Defense and Fox would be awarded permanent tenure as Press Secretary.

If the GOP gets back in control say goodbye to the USA we all grew up in. The rich will own everything we all will work for slave wages and treated as slaves.

And the GOP will triple its military spending so the GOP can start was every corner of globe...all why giving rich more tax cuts.

The GOP almost destroyed the USA when Bush was Pres. Obama has tried very hard to turn it around and has done so in small way but GOP fight him at every turn. They hate the USA so much

It's ok because, as you so astutely informed us last week, 37 governors can change any laws they want.
