Moving the goalposts is bad enough, but threatening to
burn down the stadium if the opposing team won't just
let you win is much worse.

ANY sentence beginning "Republicans accuse..." may be safely disregarded as anything but comedy or birdcage liner.

The liberals always warble that "Bush was handed a surplus by Clinton yet Bush handed one almighty deficit to Obama.

On Dec 31 1999, the total nation debt stood at roughly $5.78 trillion. I keep hearing about this surplus but in fact this nation has been in debt every year of it's existance but one and that was in the 19th century. This surplus you sp[eak of was the realization that monies coming into the government in 1999 fr4om sources other than borrowing met or exceeded the cost of running the government (other than interest on the existing national debt) for that same year.

This is the equivalent of you having $100,000 in debt, an annual income of $50K and your total cost of living (with the exception of paying on your existing debt) falling at or below your income. Not exactly the best place to be.

goalposts haven't moved. The house needs to have a vote on the issues at hand: shutdown and debt limit. No bs add-ons.

In America, drugs have made it even worse and this is why most rational people now believe Communist Democrats are insane.

Another f---ing right-wing moron who doesn't know the difference between a national debt and a yearly deficit.

Be honest, fingerstuckinhishole, tell the people if you believe truth is relative. You believe right to your dopey core, that everything is relative to whatever you are feeling at the moment. You belong in a mental hospital in restraints.

MONEY OWED IS MONEY OWED. Do you run a yearly deficit in your household? Is it greater than your income? If so, you are in the same boat as gubmint, spending beyond your means.

It's understanding living within your means that many were able to survive the economic downturn with their assets and operating capital intact. Bailouts were given to those who weren't living within their means, somebody has to cover them.

isn't a static household budget, dummy. When you have boneheads trying to slow down government investment, creating uncertainty in general - particularly about whether we will honor our commitments - and deliberately sabotaging the economy for political gain, you just get further in the hole.

household is not an economy. Too much debt is a long-term problem. People sabotaging the economy and causing uncertainty like the teabaggers have been doing creates messes with the fundamentals of a healthy economy and digs you in deeper.

Your own household is most definitely an economy. It operates with incoming revenues and outgoing expenses. You establish a budget based on your monthly income. If you overspend, you have to borrow. Then you have an additional expense called interest, an expense with no real tangible benefit. It's nice to see that you are busy blaming the tea party for the economic mess, and not the true culprits, the politicians and the banks. Betting on future revenue projections. That is the reason that we continue to suffer in this bleak economy and meanwhile this administration continues to try to spend us out of it. Bloody hell. Here is a basic rule for you, credit is not money, it is time. Earning potential is not money, it is also time.

When Bush left, the deficit was 7 trillion. With all the spending obozo has done since he has been in office, we're now approaching 20 trillion. So, when the Republican's kept saying no to obozo's higher debt and that ridiculous obamaacare, they are now the bad guys. Has the prez and his family left for their several million dollar vacation yet? Isn't it nice to see how this administration is flushing us down the toilet? But than again, who cares? BTW..any body seen that funny guy, Biden?
