Congress set to fund government, but not Trumpa s wall

There are 57 comments on the WJYI-AM Milwaukee story from Sep 24, 2018, titled Congress set to fund government, but not Trumpa s wall. In it, WJYI-AM Milwaukee reports that:

Congress is set to pass a crucial spending bill that averts a government shutdown, but there's one potential obstacle: President Donald Trump. Neither party wants the government to close ahead of the midterm elections that will determine control of Congress, but Trump has made clear his frustration at the lack of money for his long-promised wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Trump’s handlers suggested to mention the Border Wall just to test the reaction (June 2015)... it turned our to be winner. Donald Trump told the New York Times’ editorial board. At first it was his go-to applause line for sleepy crowds, building "a great big wall" and have Mexico pay for it.“You know, if it gets a little boring, if I see people starting to sort of, maybe thinking about leaving, I can sort of tell the audience, I just say,‘We will build the wall!' and they go nuts.”

So shut the government down but this time don't pay the "non-essential" workers for not working. I have lived though several "shut downs" and not one has had a negative effect on me, my family or my friends.
On the other hand illegal immigration, criminal aliens and illegal drugs have. Build the wall, honest Americans want it and so does Andres Lopez and most honest Mexicans.

Both Americans and Mexicans have voted for presidents that support the wall so ignore those that profit from human, gun and drug trafficking and build the wall.

Californians to vote on gas tax hike repeal
This November, Californians will vote on a ballot initiative called Proposition 6. The effort is meant to repeal Governor Jerry Brown's tax hike on gas.

When California Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law last spring a 12-cent gas tax increase and a new transportation improvement fee, Democrats hailed it as a way to fix the state's ailing roads and improve public transit.

But a little more than a year later – and with a gallon of gasoline costing about 80 cents more than the national average – some Democrats in key congressional races are siding with Proposition 6, a GOP-led ballot initiative to do away with the gas tax hike.

"I support Proposition 6, which repeals the gas tax,” Josh Harder, a Democrat and venture capitalist challenging incumbent GOP Rep. Jeff Denham for a seat representing part of the state’s Central Valley, told the Los Angeles Times.“We all agree that we need to fix our roads and bridges, especially here in the valley, but it should be through a thoughtful, cost-effective national plan, not through another tax we can’t afford like a gas tax that hurts working families.”

Yes, Dirty Donald Trump just made a trade deal with Mexico but there is no mention anywhere of how Mexico will pay for Trump's stupid wall.

I guess Dirty Donald just lied to the bigots and racists in America to steal their votes, and they fell for it!

Oh no! What will Trump do now that he cannot fulfill one of his biggest campaign promises? Will his supporters abandon him? Maybe they'll start asking for actual results.

Three sentences is blather to you? Does that mean your attention span is less than Trumps?

How am I projecting? Trump said many times that he was going to build the wall and it looks like that will not be in budget...

We're not there yet, but Trump's trade war with China is threatening to completely cancel out the economic benefits of last year's tax cuts. The import taxes imposed by the Trump administration will end up being a larger burden for the economy next year than all the taxes associated with the ACA—a law that Trump has often described as "a disaster" for Americans. While Trump has described tariffs as being "the greatest" and promised that his bellicose trade policies will ultimately benefit Americans. It should raise questions among Republicans, who largely favored the tax cuts and opposed the new taxes created by Obamacare.

Most Trump supporters would abandon him only if he tells them racism is evil. Let's not hold our breath.

Wall = Waste

There are more effective methods of managing illegal crossings.

One way is to fix the legal crossing system.

There are, but the biggest obstacle is Washington. Why get rid of illegals when you can have them pay protection to politicians instead?
Getting rid of the “illegals” would tank the economy, plain and simple.

Thus, they get to stay.

Never mind that the Rump “administration” deports a record low number of undocumented workers for that exact reason......
