Ron Paul: U.S. Already Committing Acts of War Against Iran

Jan 23, 2012 | Posted by: Politix Staff Ed

GOP Debate in Tampa, FL

Ron Paul said that America has already committed an act of war against Iran "by blockading the country," and asked the U.S. to put itself in Iran's shoes:

Can you imagine if someone was blockading the Gulf of Mexico? You have to have perspective. It is an act of war to blockade a country and we are doing that. ... No one wants a hot war in Iran right now.
Paul was disputing Gingrich's claim that Iran is "provoking and taunting" the US.

Do you agree with Paul? Is America provoking Iran?

Romney wins Iowa---Iowa retracts Romney"s win then says Santorum wins---Wait--then they declare NO winner.BECAUSE-BECAUSE

BECAUSE ***8*** Yep, count them 8 precincts never reported.

Moving on to NH who lets everyone vote without showing any ID. Ang even the dead people were allowed to vote. Romney was given the NH win.

Next was SC where MORE dead people voted, again. The win was given to Newt who had to call off his campaige appearance for lack of support and NO ONE was coming but he still "won" NC, right.

Anyone see a pattern here?

It's starring you right in the face.

You said it JDC. That is absolutely right. Iraq is now in a civil war and there is no fixing the problem we caused now.
And just think how the families that have made the ultimate sacrifice feel?

I want a national discussion on Iraq because it was a failure and those that do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.

I cannot believe that in the last 40 years with Viet Nam and Iraq in our memories, that not more thought is made BEFORE going to war. It certainly can be argued that the first gulf war in 1991 was also a failure as we went back 12 years later. Why the US and the world allowed Saddam to stay in power is beyond me and an obvious mistake in 1991.

Fact #1. 70% of the American population wantsmto end these wars.
Fact #2. We cannot sustain these wars financially.
Fact #3. Countries have collapsed due to financial ruin.
Fact #4. We're getting closwe to that.
Fact #5. Inflation will kill the middle class.
Fact #6. Kids already do drugs. pot is easier to get than cigarettes and alcohol.
Fact #7. Ppeople have been doing mind-altering drugs since the beginning of time. No government will ever stop it.
Fact #8. In our attempt to stop it, it has created unspeakable violence on the border because of the illegal drug trade.
Fact #9. Ron Paul supports the Constitiution like all representatives should.
Fact #10. If Ron Paul doesn't get elected, this country is doomed.

The US does make mistakes. And we are still the greatest country in the world. People still want to come here. But things aren't looking real good right now. The best thing we could do is get out of the wars, bring the troops home, and reassess things. Why not start being friendly and try trading and supporting them in other ways. Getting our country back on track and leading by example is a good place to start.

Maybe not now but is the Republican plan to revitalize the economy a new war? If so, with there stated plans to cut taxes how can the country pay for the war. Troops aren't cheap these days and I'm not sure our creditors want to by all the T-Bills that would be necessary to finance the destruction of Iran.

How things look depend on your "point" of view. Things in America still look 'real good' right now to the citizens of many nations, and they prove it be immigrating to the US, legally and illegally. As bad as it looks from the inside to a Mexican, Iranian, and many more the US is the place to be.

That said, now let's get to work and make it better.

We killed 290 innocent people when we shot down an Iranian passenger jet over Iranian territory in 1988. How do you think we would feel if someone killed 290 people by shooting down a US passenger plane over US soil? We have never admitted responsibility or apologized. This was a classic example of American arrogance and inhumanity towards non-Americans. What do you expect the Iranian public to think of us if that's how we act?

listen, genius.

iran declared war on us in 1979. what do you expect when you are at war?

especially after the several incidents that the iranians committed which killed over 300+ americans that PRE-dated the 1988 iranian air incident.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_%E2%80%93_U...

if someone declares war on you, what do you think we should do? just ignore the declaration and go hide in a corner and twiddle our thumbs?

you seem to be more concerned about the lives of those we are at war with rather than the lives of your own people?

you say we should be concerned about how the iranian people think about us. frankly, I don't give a damn what they think. obviously, they are not doing much to condemn the atrocities committed against americans. why should we be concerned about their people?

what are you? an idiot? a traitor? a cocaine using, marijuana smoking, brain dead, stupid hippie? I like to know. I think americans would all like to know.

we're all ears, bro. come on. spill it. let us know where you are coming from.

There is no way you can make any sense with Radicals CULT supporters of Paul. Paul is Anti American and showed it in all his debates and was BOOED several times By REAL AMERICANS who Love this country.
It's plain to see that they have an agenda to destroy this country
Paul's movement was forming since the late 80 with his radicals
Iran has been pulling all the strings for decades.
They stated they would wipe Enrica off the face of the earth along with Israel. IRAN is evil along with Paul and his supporters
FREEDOM IS NOT FREE YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR IT
If Paul and his supporters don't like America and back Iran then they need to go and LIVE IN IRAN.
In fact the CIA is watching Rand and Ron Paul because of position on IRAN and the Middle East
They are combatant

You gave two links:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_%E2%80%93_U...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_Air
One is the Wikipedia Page for a national airline. The other is a page on the relationship between Iran and the USA. Nowhere does it say that Iran declared war on the USA in 1979. There is no mention of atrocities killing hundreds of Americans.

Seriously, I don't want to trade insults. But I do want to resolve this disagreement. At the moment, you have lost. You appear to be believe things which are completely false and which you can't provide any evidence for. Where are you getting these ideas from that Iran has declared war on America and killed hundreds of Americans?

Paste the sentences that support your claim, and provide the URL where you got the sentence from.

You don't think taking 52 American citizens and holding them hostage, beating them and subjecting them to mock executions is an act of war?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_hostage_cri...

OK then, how about killing 241 American soldiers?
