The House passed a bill regarding the "cliff"" in August. Why hasn't the Senate acted on it?

Are you referring to the short-term farm relief bill that was passed in August? That was for the farmers, not the Cliff.

That's why Obama cut his vacation short to return to Washington, and the GOP are still out until Sunday.

The House has passed more than one bill, on more than one issue. Why hasn't the Senate acted on any of them?

Which bills are you talking about ... since you are not specific we do not know if you are BSing us. Some bills passed by the house have become public law (HR 3630, HR 3672, HR 3765) others have been assigned to committee in the Senate (HR 5652). Committees normally take time and are subject to the political whim of the chair.
Be specific when you refer to a bill, there are a great many, a sizeable portion of them less than serious attempts at making a law and many are filed to confuse. Some bills are filed and sometimes passed, that everyone knows will not become law. You can imagine the reasons...

.
that's the way legislation used to work pre-obama

house passed bill to senate, senate either voted on it passing or killing it, or added amendments and returned it to the house for a re-vote on the amendments where they would pass it or further amend it

in obamas politburo, the house does it's job and harry reids orders from obama are to table it and do nothing, just like reid said he would do to all republican bills whether obama or romney won

the obama way, he'll just write another edict bypassing legislation entirely in his typical leftist dictator fashion
