OK.
Fine. Abortion kills. I did mention in my post I understand that.
However, who a woman kills, inside her own body, is not any concern of yours, mine, or the government.
What then is your problem with abortion?
I fail to understand your commitment to be against something that has absolutely no bearing on you or your life.
I don't know what proabort is, or what crap they spew you do not believe
You will never get it apparently. Who a woman kills in her own body? There's your answer, she's killing a human being. Maybe it doesn't concern you, but slaughtering the unborn? I don't take that lightly. If you fail to understand why I'm so committed to the prolife cause, then you are clueless, and I urge you to try and learn more about it. You seem to have no compassion for a defenseless human being, who in some cases is being torn limb from limb to take him/her out, and smashing their sculls. If that's something you don't "mind" then, carry on without feelings.

Boy, most women have "feelings" about the difficult decisions they make on whether to continue their pregnancy. It is HER (please notice the word HER) decision,

We will leave the histrionics to folks like you and the important decisions to the women who have to make those hard decisions.

With heart disease being the #1 killer of women, I don't take lightly to women stuffing their faces, slaughtering their cardiovascular system with plaque and cholesterol, not all having gym memberships, taking daily multivitamin supplements, moisturizing and avoiding wrinkles, and all looking like Barbies.

I think any woman with greater than a BMI of 10 should be forced by law to join their local "chub club" weight watchers program, at their own expense.

How does that sound to you?????

So, you're comparing this to abortion? Are you serious? Your scenario has a woman killing herself, not a helpless unborn. No comparison hon.Btw, last thread I answered you on many months ago, you never answered me. You stated you were glad to be Jewish because they're a "better class of people". I asked you a question, which was...are you aware Orthodox Jews look down on reformed Jews? Are you aware they look at the reformed Jew as not a true Jew? So, this is your better class of people? Lmao!

Who's comparing anything? You stated something which you don't take lightly, I stated what I don't take lightly.

The common denominator here is the woman, whom in your "I don't take lightly" claim, you ignore.

Once again, you're speaking out of your rear, pretending you know that you're talking about.

Orthodox Jews don't recognize conversions into anything other than Orthodox Judaism. That means, they don't recognize conversions into Reform or Conservative Judaism. However, under the Law of Return, people who convert into Reform or Conservative Judaism, can migrate to Israel AND receive automatic Israeli citizenship.

Now, to answer your question once and for all, do you really think I care what you say Orthodox Jews think of reform Jews, especially when you don't really know what you're talking about?

I happen to know many Orthodox Jews and two Orthodox Rabbis very well. In fact, my wife and I had passover seder three weeks ago in the home of one of our best friends. Him and his wife are Orthordox; you know, they walk to Temple and don't turn on any lights on Shabbat, him and his sons wear the tzitzit and a kippah at all times, things like that. Neither our friends, nor the Rabbis I know, think less of my wife and me for being reform Jews. To them, we're Jews, despite that I am a Jewish convert.

Now, you go ask any Orthodox, Hasidic, Lubavitch, Conservative, or Reform Jew what they think of Messianic Jews, and all of them will tell you THEY'RE not Jews, but members of a christian sect or cult. In fact, the Supreme Court of Israel has ruled, in many occasions, especially related to citizenship petitions under the law of return from Messianic Jews, that even though the applicant's mother was a Jew, the applicant, was not a Jew and therefore not granted the right of Isareli Citizenship I have as a Jewish convert. Go figure!

BTW, I hear that Pentecostals and Southern Baptists to name a few, think Catholics worship idols because they still have Jeebus on the cross and they pray to Mary and the saints. Now, aren't they all labeled as "christians" because all of them believe in "jesus christ?"

What do you have to say about that?

Please, do try and keep your arguments to a subject you actually may have an iota of possibility in arguing somewhat credibly.

You wasted lots of words here. It happens to be fact that Orthodox Jews look down upon reformed Jews as not real Jews. You just get treated properly to your face, it's totally different than you realize. Enough said.

If it's a fact, then prove it.

You're right. Any attempt to educate you on what facts really are, is a waste of words and time.

Now, since you're so adamant to call your belief a fact, and facts ARE PROVEN, please feel free to state your empirical and compelling evidence that proves that Orthodox Jews look down upon Reform Jews as "non-Jews."

Then, if you're actually able to prove your belief as fact, explain to me why should I care.

TIA.

Well, the only way to explain it to you is that I am Orthodox. Trust me when I say things are said against reformed Jews. You claimed Jews are a different class of people, they're no better than any other religion. I live in the community, and I don't in my own heart like that kind of trashing, but it exists. In fact, if a reformed Jew marries a gentile, Orthodox say they watered down the religion. We are taught to re populate the earth with our own kind. I'm sure you're aware of how many children people in the community of a Orthodox Jews have. Some have so many they can't feed them, and the community helps with expenses. I also know I go against my own religion being prolife. Jews don't believe a child is a person until first breath. I believe differently, and proudly so. Don't take how you're treated at face value, it's not what you think.

I'm just trying to get the point across that Jews are actually not a better class of people. When you stated that, I had to speak up. I've been in a store with a friend and her young daughter when the child who is only 6 pointed and said...oh mommy look! A non Jewish person, stay away from them. Nice huh?

So basically you're proving a "fact" with only the evidence of your own experience. Duly notes.

Why do you purport all Orthodox Jews to act by the standard of your experiences? Is that the reason why you've been so much more nasty to me than to other posters?

That's a helluva mitzvah Kayla.

Before my conversion, I attended a Lubavitch temple with a friend of mine on Shabbat. I couldn't have been welcomed better at the White House by our president.

Jus sayin

As far as you going against your religion by being pro-life, I sympathize with that. Before my conversion, I also went against my religion by being pro-choice. Many held that against me. But, it's not the reason why I say Jews are a better kind of people. Just because my beliefs regarding abortion are parallel to the teachings of Judaism was not my motive for converting to Judaism. That's too personal to blurt out on Topix.

And it's not first breath; it's a person when most of the body is out.

I find it hard to understand how Jews can be pro choice with so many refrences in the Bible where God seems to create indiviuals for a purpose and speaks of them as His creation even while in the womb.

G-d created Adam and Eve in his own image. But, when Adam and Eve were thrown out of the Garden of Eden, mankind was no longer in the image of G-d. It's the reason why G-d expressed regret for creating mankind, and told Noah to build the arc. It's the reason why G-d burned Sodom & Gomorrah. It's the reason why G-d killed the first borns of Egypt, and then killed Pharao's troops. It's the reason why King David expressly stated his mother conceived him in sin. It's the reason why Moshe was born with a speech problem and his brother Aaron had to speak to Pharaoh for him. And it's the reason why G-d punished Samaria by dashing its little ones and ripping the bellies of pregnant women.

There's plenty more; would you like me to continue?

BTW, if G-d really has a purpose for people; then how do you explain the fact that greater than 60% of what you and Kayla call "human beings," don't get a chance to live past fertilization?????

Legal abortion is just another means by which G-d purges mankind.

Not really.
As a species we have stepped out of the food chain. The only animal that hunts or kills man is man. And typically it is not for food. We have no predators. but our species, like every other species does require culling to grow and survive.
Mammal babies whose mother does not take care of them.....die
for us, the unwanted offspring become wards of the state, then inmates, and cost our society billions every year.
Who do you want killing people in America?
Moms?
or
The government?
