Teen jailed for sarcastic remark beaten up in jail, now on suicide watch
http://dailycaller.com/2013/07/08/teen-jailed...
Justin Carter was arrested last February for making a sarcastic, threatening remark against a school after being provoked by another player in League of Legends, an online video game. Carter followed his remark with “lol” and “jk,” signalling that it was not a serious threat. Nevertheless, Texas authorities have charged him with making threats of a terrorist nature, and set his bail at $500,000.

listen to what the race-baiters are really saying: to decrease the number of blacks/minorities arrested and jailed, QUIT ENFORCING THE LAWS WHEN SUCH ARE INVOLVED.

I have yet to hear the plea for the offenders to quit breaking the laws!

like, I keep waiting for the millions of unemployed libs/dems/minorities/blacks/Pr ogressives to DEMAND American JOBS instead of more handouts and finger-pointing (like NTR).

if Pres A failed to produce, move on to Pres B, then C, then D, etc....

execept, we did not MOVE ON (thanks much, NTR & Co!)....

that is how a representative democracy (a freakin' Rwpublic!) is supposed to function.

I agree racial profiling occurs, but it certainly was not proven in this case. There is also nothing wrong with having discussions or marches regarding racial profiling. The problem I have is having the discussions and marches directly related to this case.
There was nothing provided by the prosecutors or discovered by the FBI which would indicate this case had anything to do with racial profiling or racism. Actually, just the opposite was true.
Mr. Zimmerman lived in a neighborhood which had a great deal of criminal activity during the previous year or more. A Neighborhood Watch group was created by the residents due to the criminal activity. Mr. Zimmerman was selected as the Neighborhood Watch captain/leader and was responsible for being aware of unidentified people and/or suspicious activity in the area.
Mr. Zimmerman was headed to the grocery store and noticed someone he could not identify walking leisurely in the rain, in the dark behind the condos. Due to their height, attire, the rain, and the darkness, he has no idea of their age. He calls 911 and attempts to keep the person in sight so he can advise the police where the unidentified person is located. He would have been suspicious of this person no matter their race.
Based on the altercation and the situation Mr. Zimmerman was in, I believe the same outcome would have occurred if the unidentified person had been white, black, or Hispanic. As Mr. Zimmerman was pinned down and pummeled with no way to escape, he would have shot whomever was on top of him no matter their race. What is so sad is that if the person had been white or Hispanic, the media coverage and outcry by the public probably would have never occurred.
Any one of these armchair judges, when lying on their backs being pummeled by a hooded creep, would blow a hole in him big enough to throw a cat through, given the means.

Obama:'Trayvon Martin could have been me'
By Tom Cohen, CNN
Fri July 19, 2013
Speaking without a teleprompter, Obama noted a history of racial disparity in law as well as more nuanced social prejudice that contribute to "a lot of pain" in the African-American community over the verdict.
"There are very few African-American men in this country who have not had the experience of being followed when they are shopping at a department store. That includes me," the president said.
"There are probably very few African-American men who have not had the experience of walking across the street and hearing the locks click on the doors of cars. That happens to me - at least before I was a senator," he continued.
"There are very few African-Americans who have not had the experience of getting on an elevator and a woman clutching her purse nervously and holding her breath until she had the chance to get off. That happens often," he said.(CONT.)

Thank you, Mr. President. Thank you for acknowledging also that young people are "better than we are".
OUR Pres had three options, three things he could have come out and 'identified' with:

1) being black,

2) being white (or right, lol),

or

3) the Rule of Law, which IS color blind.

as an attorney, he should have sided with the Law and the facts of the case, etc..

as a Law Professor, he should have sided with the Law, etc...

as an elected representative of over 300 million DIVERSE citizens, and having taken an Oath to the Rule of Law, the Constitution, he should have sided with #3.

I see NO reason, other then his being part of the 1% and the powerful elite, why he would pick #2.

and, now that he has picked option #1, IMO, he can no longer claim to be the President of ALL of the United States or a Protector of the Constitution.

a true UNITER would have picked #3...

hell, even a TRUE politician would have picked #3!

but, some of us already KNEW that about THIS failed president...

Lucrative payouts lure progressive-slot players

On July 2, an Alabama man won the $1.5 million jackpot on the penny Wheel of Fortune progressive jackpot at Hard Rock Casino Biloxi.

Four days before, on June 28, an Indiana woman scored the ninth-biggest jackpot ever hit in the state when she won $8.3 million playing a 25-cent statewide progressive Wheel of Fortune machine at Fitz Casino in Tunica.

Both winners were retirees who said they will share their fortunes — won on the Wheel of Fortune — with their families.

Two jackpot winners in five days at Mississippi casinos isn’t that unusual, says a representative with slot machine manufacturer International Gaming Technology, especially around a holiday.

Hard Rock Biloxi has had three MegaJackpots of more than $1 million since it opened six years ago and several more in the $105,000 range, mostly on the Wheel of Fortune progressive.

“Wheel of Fortune probably is the greatest slot machine ever invented to date,” he said.“For such a long time, it’s kept people’s interest.”

Seven of the top 10 jackpots in South Mississippi were won on Wheel of Fortune, two on Megabucks and one on Jeopardy.

The largest IGT MegaJackpot was $39.7 million won in Nevada, and Lanning said the next millionaire could come any time.

On average an IGT MegaJackpot is won every 30 hours somewhere in the country. The company has paid nearly $6 billion and made more than 1,500 millionaires.

To win the MegaJackpot, a player has to wager the maximum bet.

I think he was trying to let those calling for civil rights charges down easy.. LOL.. But here is something for ya..
Mark O'Mara talks Zimmerman's future, prosecutors' comments
TALLAHASSEE --
George Zimmerman's defense attorney is not happy that prosecutors have continued to label his client as a "murderer," even after Zimmerman was found not guilty late Saturday.
When asked to describe George Zimmerman in one word during an interview with HLN, State Attorney Angela Corey replied, "Murderer."
I asked Mark O'Mara on Thursday about Corey's comment. He wouldn't go as far as to say Zimmerman would sue the state, but he did say he's not happy with what prosecutors are saying.
"It's horrible to denigrate a jury's decision and the whole process, particularly when it comes from people who are sworn to uphold the standards of the system," O'Mara said. "I don't know why they can't just deal with it with a little bit of finesse, a little bit of pride in themselves, and realize they tried their best case and they lost, and move on."
I also asked O'Mara about a number of other things, including how Zimmerman is doing after his acquittal.
"He's relieved," he said, "and he wanted to tell the story himself, but he's glad it got out."
O'Mara added, "He's very worried about his future, because there's a lot of anger falling on top of him, and that's very concerning to him."
Zimmerman's lawyer said he and other members of the defense team have also received threats, but they are dealing with those. O'Mara did not seem too concerned about it as we talked outside of his Orlando law office.
O'Mara said the discussion about race this case has ignited across the country could be a good thing, but he added the anger is unjustified.
"He's been acquitted by the most fair system in the universe, but there's still people that refuse to accept it, because they refuse to accept the facts," O'Mara said.
As for possible legal action to come, O'Mara said he believes it's unlikely potential civil rights charges will stick.
When I asked him about a possible wrongful death suit from Trayvon Martin's family, O'Mara said Zimmerman "will argue that he's immune from civil liability because he acted appropriately in self-defense. That includes the award for attorneys' fees for that process, so we'll deal with it."
"It may just be a presentation they want to make, but that's a day yet to come," O'Mara added.

I often questioned (to myself) and wondered about O'Mara's stratagies, but that 4 minutes of silence during the closing was sheer genius.

I'd been trying to watch as much of the trial as possible (I work 2-10:30PM) but missed maybe as much as 50% of it all.

I also kept waiting for the BIG State evidence to be produced, like promised. never happened, did it?lol

sue the State, Corey, the Martin Family, Rev Al, etc...?

seems like a slam dunk to me....

might give the Judge a pass, tho...lol

THE TRUTH CLINIC: Justice for Trayvon Martin
http://northdallasgazette.com/2013/07/15/the-...
But the Zimmerman trial was bigger than George Zimmerman or Trayvon Martin. At stake were the gun laws not only in Florida but also in states all across America. The years of lobbying and millions of dollars that special interest groups such as the NRA have invested in “second amendment” legislation was too powerful a force even for Lady Justice. This is just another of the many times that she peeks under the blindfold of impartiality to influence the balance scales. This is the reality of justice versus the perception of justice.

Portland man describes attack with skateboard
http://www.kgw.com/news/local/Portland-man-70...
It all started when a woman, who was apparently upset by what Allen was doing, confronted him. The woman grabbed the hose he was using and ended up spraying herself.

That's when out of nowhere, Allen said he was hit across the forehead with a skateboard, causing him to lose consciousness before waking up on the pavement.
