I am not a racist - but I disagree with your statement. One could be a racist and not approve of what he's doing -- what he is doing has nothing to do with his race, it's his ideology and policies that are at issue here, not his color. I disagree with his ideology and policies, and I don't care a whit about his color. He could be white or green or purple and I would still disagree with him. I also disagree with Nancy Pelosi and she's white, I disagree with Biden, and he's white -- I agree with Marco Rubio, and he's latino. I agree with Martin Luther King - it's not about the color of the skin, it's about the content of his character.
See? I'm truly not a racist.
There are those, though, who are racists and disagree with Obama. There are black people who disagreed with George Bush -- does that make them racists too? Did they disagree with him because he is white or because he did things they didn't like?
Your argument doesn't hold water.
What's "he" doing that has you so exercised? What ideology or policy has you disturbed?

Do you see the President's policies as "race based" and divisive? The reality is that he has spoken less about racial issues than any president in the last fifty years. Black Americans have lost more ground than any other group since the Recession began. Do you see some kind of special privileges the President has afforded them that they don't see or that the rest of us are missing? I don't see anything Obama has done to fuel racial divisions. I do see racists who read tea leaves and concoct conspiracy theories that have no basis in fact.

Calling the president a Marxist, a Communist, a Socialist - all intended to disparage a man who is NONE of those things and whose policies have no relationship to the allegations. The man is a Centrist, has been every bit as supportive of business interests as his Republican predecessor was, and has only now moved toward greater efforts to protect and preserve a middle class in America. That he refuses to completely dismantle the social welfare safety net (85% of Social Security recipients are white), should have provided you evidence of his intentions with respect to policy.

The only policy that the extremists point to as justification for allegations about Obama is his intent to expire tax cuts for the wealthiest. Frankly, I have no idea why this is even an issue for anybody posting on these threads that it should so outrage you. It doesn't apply to you, and it's not an increase in the first place. It's the end of a tax CUT they've enjoyed for a very long time and which we can no longer afford - just as we can no longer afford the amount of social welfare we've supplied.

There is more than sufficient evidence that eliminating the Bush cuts will NOT harm jobs creation. So, what is your objection? Unfair? Well, it's been VERY unfair for a long time that the wealthiest should have tax credits and deductions not available to most working Americans and which results in the Mitt Romneys in America paying 13% of their incomes once all the deductions and credits kick in versus 22% for the middle class of theirs'. THAT is what is unfair.

<quoted text>Not true. I thought you read and were up-to-date on everything fiscal;-)
We MUST reform entitlement programs. Both Social Security and Medicare along with Medicaid will be on the menu for cuts and restructure (just not a voucher program). Obama has already proposed more than $2 in cuts for every $1 dollar in revenue increases ($2.8 trillion in cuts,$1.2 trillion in increased tax revenues) in seeking a grand compromise, so you KNOW he is going to reduce spending if Republicans are willing to get off their "save the rich" program of never ending entitlements. I think they MUST do that, because cuts will come that do impact on the middle-class as well as the poor. What about unemployment benefits? They've been extended time and again, but that's going to have to change as well. Honestly, Fish head, this is going to be painful, just not quite as painful as it would have been under Romney.
You seem to believe that Obama is going to "give" everybody something, and I believe he's going to be working with Congress to take things away with the least degree of pain we can manage and still get busy reducing the deficit. If any money is spent, it will only be toward the essentials to helping this nation become more competitive on a global basis and to improve the economy. He's not about to park people with a mandate to sit and enjoy the weather. So, the President is truly pressed to come up with jobs that let the unemployed get back to work before their lives become even more unpleasant. There was never a plan to privilege some selected minority group. That's strictly your imagination working overtime. He simply asked the wealthiest who have enjoyed the greatest benefit of the Bush tax cuts to expect them to roll back to the previous rates. Not the end of the world.
Yeah, keep on believing that. When I actually SEE it, then I'll believe it. I don't trust ANYTHING obama SAYS. I have ZERO trust in anything he says. Talk is cheap. So far, I've only heard about raising the (NOW) 2% taxes. I have not heard ONE THING about where/how he's proposing cutting spending. It's all about raising revenue. He has not mentioned SS, Mecicare or any other entitlement spending reforms/reductions. Everybody is for spending cuts until the cuts come to something that is near and dear to THEM. Then, they don't want cuts. So, go ahead and keep believing obama is your saviour and he will get the economy going in the right direction by raising taxes. I'm not buying it until I see proof. As I said, talk is cheap. Actions are what count.

“If Sen. McCain and Sen. Graham and others want to go after somebody, they should go after me,” Obama said.“And I’m happy to have that discussion with them. But for them to go after the U.N. ambassador? Who had nothing to do with Benghazi? And was simply making a presentation based on intelligence that she had received? To besmirch her reputation is outrageous.”

He called out McCain and Graham:“When they go after the U.N. ambassador apparently because they think she’s an easy target, then they’ve got a problem with me.”

The obvious disconnect in Obama’s rant, is: If Ms. Rice “had nothing to do with Benghazi,” why in the hell was she sent to the Sunday news show circuit by the president?

Why not Hillary Clinton or other knowledgeable spokesperson from the State Department or perhaps some one from the CIA?

Indeed, it was Obama who made Ms. Rice a target by sending her on a mission for which she was ill-prepared, other than being fed misleading (at best) talking points by an administration trying to stave off disaster just weeks before a national election.

Even more disconcerting is Obama’s “outrage,” given the fact that four innocent American lives were lost during the attack!

Again, four American lives were lost! THAT IS THE OUTRAGE, Mr. President!

The American people have a right to know exactly what happened, how our government behaved, and who and what is to blame for the failures in Benghazi!

Is it too cynical to suggest this scenario: After the attacks became known, Team Obama realized that the impact on the upcoming elections could be a game-changer in Mitt Romney’s favor.

Clearly, Obama needed a cover story that would avoid the conclusion that the administration was remiss in not taking the war on terror and Al-Qaeda seriously on the anniversary of the worst terrorist attack on American soil in history.

At the same time, Obama needed to have that story presented by someone who could be defended by accusing detractors of discrimination.

Presto! Susan Rice emerges as the perfect target! She is black and female, as such damn near bullet proof.

Or so Team Obama thought!

All of which leads to the inescapable conclusion that,”The President Doth Proteseth Too Much!”

I am not saying he has said anything race based at all, nor do I believe it. Don't put words in my mouth (though you always do).
Nothing has me "exercised" or "disturbed". What I am concerned about are his policies of "redistribution of wealth", more government spending and control, along with sustainable development, and his "fundamental change" in our country.
I don't believe those soundbites are to be believed at face value. I believe there is underlying meaning to them. If you research sustainable development - the entire scope of it - you might understand my concern on that level, even if you don't agree with it.
I am basing my concern on a number of factors, with which I imagine you disagree so I won't bother stating them other than to say I believe he has an agenda underlying these innocuous, though impressive-sounding, comments. It all sounds wonderful and utopian, but I have reason to believe there is more to what he means than the impression given by his statements.
And what proof do you have, other than his denials, that he is NOT a marxist, communist, socialist? I'm not saying, nor have I ever said, he was any of those things. I have said I believe some of his goals approach socialism.
I have said nothing about dismantling the social safety net. I have said nothing regarding more taxes for the wealthy. I have said nothing regarding the middle class. Again, you're putting words in my mouth.
The only thing I may have alluded to regarding more taxes for the wealthy would be about redistribution of wealth. I agree with closing loopholes, I agree with reforming the tax code (though I may disagree with the way he wants to do it -- I don't know because I don't know his thoughts on that yet). Everyone talks about the middle class being decimated -- there are those from the middle class who have been successful and are now considered upper class. Is that a problem? Yes, I know there are those who are now lower class, as well. A large part of that has to do with the continuing bad employment numbers, the lack of appropriate jobs for Americans with education, the concern businesses have regarding their futures.
However, with the additional "revenue" (read taxes), must come reduction in spending. I haven't heard any of that from him. He may say he'll cut spending, but frankly, I don't think he wants to.
So, in closing, you have no clue what I have said or am saying, or my intent. I have gone in-depth in these forums as to why I believe these things. If you can't or won't understand my true meanings, I have nothing more to say to you.(sorry, I had to omit some of your post in order to complete mine)

Obama is not my savior, and you have never read where I ever posted any such thing. He was the better of the options we had this election. Oh, I fully expect disappointments to come - for a lot of folks - not just the expiration of tax cuts for the wealthiest. He HAS mentioned Medicare and Social Security. He was willing to put both programs on the table for discussion of cuts in exchange for ending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy (The Grand Bargain). You may recall Eric Cantor going postal when he learned Boehmer and the President has tentatively worked out a plan - before Boehmer suddently sustained an inexplicable bout of total amnesia? LOL

At any rate, expect that these programs will be part of deficit reduction discussions.

Wealth has already been redistributed away from the middle class to the wealthy. Those are the facts, and that program of redistribution has been underway for several decades. If Obama suggests we need to redistribute the redistribution that has transpired, that would be because this kind of disparity does not sustain a representative democracy or a peaceful orderly society.

It deprives millions and millions of Americans of access to opportunity. Either we believe that everybody should have a shot, or we believe some of us are just better than others by virtue of social class, race, income. Do we? Is that your view of America?

Proverbs 3:5-10 KJV

Trust ... in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase:
So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
