Glad you agree. But it's all about socialism, which is comic book economics and a fairy tale for children, nothing more. It doesn't matter who believes it. It defies human nature....that's all humans, everywhere. It make no more sense than thinking we'll all suddenly become Jesus or Gandhi. Right. We'll sooner sprout wings or develop Harry Potter-like magical powers. Or the heavens will rain diamonds.

But keep on being a child your entire adult life. The good thing is that my side can't lose. I have REALITY on my side. You have hoping, wishing, delusional thinking, low intelligence and the key ingredient for every socialist: envy of those who succeed.

So you think a welder or a carpenter could run a big business?I disagree.Unless welder or carpenter STARTED business when young and took 40 years to LEARN by DOING.Big difference. And "need" alone is not valid.Who needs to work if some can just wish and make it so?
_White American_ wrote:
<quoted text>Who do you think were the inventors, etc? They were the workers. Many inventions are started by someone working in their garage even now.
"Could a "worker"(meaning a laborer)run a big business?"
YES!
"Yet the CEO could EASILY do the "workers" job"
NO THEY CAN'T IN MOST CASES. One can see that on the TV program that shows the CEO's getting into the workers shoes to see if any changes need to be made. Most of them would be fired.
"Could a "worker" operate on someones Brain?"
They do all the time. They have been trained to do so.
"Yet a surgeon could EASILY do the "workers" job."
The surgeon is a worker!
".Ability is everything.Need is nothing.Once THAT is settled, this country will once again be great."
Ability isn't everything. It takes someone that is driven to use those abilities to do anything.
Need is not nothing....it's a very valid requirement to have a good civilization.
It will take much more then going back to the middle ages to make this Country as great as it has been. It will take workers and it will take Americans to understand that we have to have balance. Too much of anything has always been bad in one way or another. Balance and moderation is healthy.

And without the "Brain" you would have a country with a bunch of "workers" with nothing to do.Problem is,like gold, brains are rare.Workers, while valuable to any society, are as replacable as piston rods. And UNSKILLED labor is worthless in a technological society.

So, here and in your examples you are arguing against your own point. You say these men started with very little and are responsible for our success. Not the wealthy, but the hardworking, be it of mind, or body. Innovation and risk takers were part of the formula. But when challenged with wars and the Depression, the common man(and woman) sacrificed and went to work FOR little or nothing and pulled us through.
The architect of the Golden Gate Bridge would have nothing to show without the "muscle" of the men who built that bridge. Without the laborers you'd have a country of thinkers with nothing done.

I like the Obama administrations new "policy of the day" to deal with ISIS (or ISIL). It's like the seasonal aisle at the local grocery store: lots of fun stuff, most of it gone in a week or two.

"TO THE GATES OF HELL.......or the midterm elections, whichever we get to first." - Joe Biden

Obama: "We'll contain them,,,,uh, no, not right away.... I mean after we get a coalition. But then we seriously degrade them.... or maybe even destroy them. But really, they'll feel our justice....after we read them their Miranda rights.....but we will prevail....even though no serious resources will be put at risk....cause, you know, I promised to end the war...... but if they think we're leaving.....well, ok, we are.... but we are damned mad and we have planes & drones & such...... unless we need the dough for ObamaCare..... SAY.....IS THAT A REPUBLICAN I SEE OVER THERE?!.....[exit stage left]

[Obama re-enters] "Did I tell you that my fearsome rhetoric caused Putin to blink? Yep, that cease fire was all me, me alone no damn coalition needed. What's that? Crimea? What's that? Or do you start to say cry me a river?" [exits again]

The dollar wasted on a lottery ticket is better spent on the mortar it will take to turn those foundation stones into something awesome. All the state is going to do with it's lottery earnings is waste it trying to teach a Mexican kid how to read, write and speak English while the American kids wait.

Some facts of life to a an adult child:

My grandmother lived to be 106 y/o and took care of herself till the last 2 yrs. She lost her eyesight and could no longer function properly.

Yet she was never disabled, never tried to rip off tax payers to pay for their lives, etc.

Children and even babies have heart problems and strokes, some die and some live.

Yeah its better to rush right in, when you don't understand the culture, the people living there, the history, and not have a plan to run the country after you take out the evil bad man....we all know how well that turned out.

The Middle East is much to complicated, with too many players to be left in the hands of the simple minded conservatives like you who are only capable of binary logic. Best to leave it to the adults, so run along.

To defeat ISIS you have to address the context out of which it emerged. And that is the three civil wars raging in the Arab world today: the civil war within Sunni Islam between radical jihadists and moderate mainstream Sunni Muslims and regimes; the civil war across the region between Sunnis funded by Saudi Arabia and Shiites funded by Iran; and the civil war between Sunni jihadists and all other minorities in the region — Yazidis, Turkmen, Kurds, Christians, Jews and Alawites.
When you have a region beset by that many civil wars at once, it means there is no center, only sides. And when you intervene in the middle of a region with no center, you very quickly become a side.
ISIS emerged as an extreme expression of resentment by one side: Iraqi and Syrian Sunnis who felt cut out of power and resources by the pro-Iranian Shiite regime in Baghdad and the pro-Iranian Alawite/Shiite regime in Damascus. That is why Obama keeps insisting that America’s military intervention must be accompanied, for starters, by Iraqis producing a national unity government — of mainstream Shiites, Sunnis and Kurds — so our use of force supports pluralism and power-sharing, not just Shiite power.
But power-sharing doesn’t come easy in a region where kinship and sectarian loyalties overwhelm any sense of shared citizenship. Without it, though, the dominant philosophy is either:“I am strong, why should I compromise?” or “I am weak, how can I compromise?” So any onslaught we make on ISIS, absent national unity governments, will have Shiites saying the former and Sunnis saying the latter. That’s why this is complicated

Your side?

Not completely clear on what you mean by that but If I had to guess, I would say that, "your side" is as much of a figment of your imagination as is your battle with what you have convinced yourself is to be "my side".

A child would believe that the the world was created in seven days. A child would believe that you can enslave a race of people and expect that that action will not have lasting effects on generations upon generations of a society. A child would hold to the status quo regardless of the "reality" staring them in the face that they are supporting policies that go against there own interests. You calling me a child is frankly just humorous to me.

The "reality" of it, as far as I'm concerned, is that this country is fast becoming a country where the only system and means of differentiation between peoples is between the haves and have nots. Not exactly what I believed the founding fathers hoped for but you may not agree.

Now, I'm not all together sure where you fall amongst those lines, but I do know where I fall, and I can tell you that I'm not at all concerned with whatever fight you have imagined yourself in, or in whatever "reality" you have created, or with whatever side you've imagined me on. That should tell you something.

How about you tell us what the Plan is from the Republican side of the aisle and why we should all get excited about it and rush out there and vote to put our Congress under Republican control? What exciting opportunities are there in this Plan for regular working class Americans? I'd like to get excited right along with you clowns who believe in fairy tales and trickle down economics.
NTR spews:
