<quoted text>Yes, that would be 1948. So? What's your point? Let me tell you the points you've made other than the one we can see on top of your head:
1) You're easily bested by an old woman who can think circles around you.
2) It grates on you that she does that without so much as blinking.
3) It just galls you that you are seen for what you are - not much.
Now, run along and find a smooth surface without any splinters or a soft run without any filth (assuming that's even possible where you live) and lay down on the floor and pummel your fists and kick your feet. If you're wearing your good high heels, take them off first.

False Pretenses
Following 9/11, President Bush and seven top officials of his administration waged a carefully orchestrated campaign of misinformation about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq./ January 23, 2008 / http://tinyurl.com/ls2llay
By Charles Lewis and Mark Reading-Smith
President George W. Bush and seven of his administration's top officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, made at least 935 false statements in the two years following September 11, 2001, about the national security threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Nearly five years after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, an exhaustive examination of the record shows that the statements were part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.
On at least 532 separate occasions (in speeches, briefings, interviews, testimony, and the like), Bush and these three key officials, along with Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz, and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan, stated unequivocally that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (or was trying to produce or obtain them), links to Al Qaeda, or both. This concerted effort was the underpinning of the Bush administration's case for war.
It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to Al Qaeda. This was the conclusion of numerous bipartisan government investigations, including those by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (2004 and 2006), the 9/11 Commission, and the multinational Iraq Survey Group, whose "Duelfer Report" established that Saddam Hussein had terminated Iraq's nuclear program in 1991 and made little effort to restart it.

935 Lies (and Counting): Study Documents Bush Administration’s False Statements Preceding Iraq War / January 24, 2008 / http://tinyurl.com/2u7zm4
A new study from the Center for Public Integrity has revealed President Bush and top administration officials made a total of 935 false public statements about Iraq’s alleged national security threat in the two years following the 9/11 attacks. President Bush made the most false statements – 260. Colin Powell, his then secretary of state, made 254 false statements. We speak with the founder of the Center for Public Integrity, Charles Lewis.

750 immigration detainees on hunger strike

TACOMA, Wash.– The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement department has confirmed that 750 detainees at the Northwest Detention Center have refused to eat and say they are on a hunger strike.

An immigrant activist says the hunger strike started Friday as a protest of deportations as well as center conditions.

The center currently houses nearly 1,300 people, being investigated for possible deportation.

ICE spokesman Andrew Munoz says the agency respects the right of people to express their opinions without interference.

The detainees are under continuous observation by center staff and medical personnel.

Activist Maru Mora says the hunger strikers are seeking better food and treatment as well as better pay for center jobs.

Feds: 2 Houston agencies supplied Chinese restaurants with workers who were in US illegally

Federal authorities say they have shut down two Houston employment agencies that were recruiting immigrants living in the U.S. illegally to work in Chinese restaurants in at least seven states, including Texas, Louisiana and Maine.

Brian M. Moskowitz, special agent in charge of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations, said Thursday that the Hong Li and the Tai Shan employment agencies provided workers, mostly from Mexico and Central America, to the restaurants.

The agencies are also accused of housing the immigrants in often cramped homes and apartments and transporting them to restaurants in various states.

Authorities say 32 individuals were charged in two separate indictments.

Officials Thursday arrested 21 of those indicted. During the arrests, agents also took into custody nine people living in the country illegally.

Directing War Strategies from the Shadows
http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/03/07/direct...
“From the moment the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, the United States has relentlessly pursued a strategy of encircling Russia, just as it has with other perceived enemies like China and Iran. It has brought 12 countries in central Europe, all of them formerly allied with Moscow, into the NATO alliance. US military power is now directly on Russia’s borders…This crisis is in part the result of a zero-sum calculation that has shaped US policy toward Moscow since the Cold War: Any loss for Russia is an American victory, and anything positive that happens to, for, or in Russia is bad for the United States. This is an approach that intensifies confrontation, rather than soothing it.”

The President is a frailer:

Border Patrol agents are using new robot technology to catch illegal activities inside tunnels at the Arizona-Mexico border.

Agents in the Tucson sector will demonstrate on Tuesday how so-called "tunnel robots" will be used to detect any tunnels that could be used by illegal border-crossers.

The agents will be joined by tunnel experts at a drainage tunnel in Nogales.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says criminal organizations in Mexico are increasingly turning to tunnel systems as border security above ground tightens.

The agency says the tunnels are typically used to transport people, drugs, weapons and other illegal materials.

More than 75 such underground passages have been found along the border since 2008, concentrated largely in California and Arizona.

The President is a frailer:

SACRAMENTO, Calif.– A man wanted in the slayings of eight Mexican municipal government officials was held in a California jail for four months on drug charges, officials said, but overcrowding forced his release before authorities made a connection to the 13-year-old killings.

San Joaquin County Deputy District Attorney Todd Turner, who is prosecuting the marijuana-growing case, said that he first learned that Genaro Olaguez was a suspect in the May 2000 slayings when he read a media account Thursday.
