Day 15 of the Government slow down, (Only 13% of the workers were sent home)and it has not affected anyone in my family. We don't miss the freebies, because we don't get any. The Republicans will give in to the President's blackmail, and Obama will get his new debt level. He won't be satisfied until we are bankrupt. But he can't do it forever. So just count off the days until the new President is elected in 2017. Life will be good again.

And just think ~ there are folks like this actually *in* our government.
Hey you, it's me. Hey me, it's you. Always found it funny that Tom D thought you and I were one and the same. Ted Cruz and his ilk are very, very close to the treason line.

Raising the debt ceiling hurts all Americans today. We continue to hear that we are robbing from our children, and this is true.

However, every time we are forced to print money, which occurs as we raise our debt ceiling, it devalues the U.S. dollar. This in turn makes the items that you spend your after-tax money on more expensive.

When Americans wake up and realize that the reason they have less money to spend is in large part due to our huge and ever-increasing debt, that will be the time that we will see changes from both sides of the aisle.

I hope the narrative changes to "Wow, more debt."

This requires us to print more money because we don't have the money (we spend a trillion dollars more than what we bring in from tax revenue). When you print more money it reduces the value of the money you already have. This, in turns, makes your lives tougher and more expensive.

So, remember each time you go to pay for something and it costs more than you expected, each time you are feeling as though your money isn't going as far as it used to, and each time you feel the strain of day to day living is more financially stressful -- you are not being delusional. It is because each time the debt ceiling is raised and we print more money and issue more debt your life and money are being devalued.

Since when is it treason to want some financial responsibility from elected officials? Ted Cruz is right, but we don't have enough people like him in Government. I was talking to taxpayers at a birthday party in Chicago Tuesday, and they are all up in arms. Can't wait until Bill and Hil are back in the White House again.

First of all, when we use the word entitlement, we must realize that social security is, or supposed to be a trust fund that holds our money until we are old. It has become a bank for bullsh!t projects that never put the money back. Why is there never a discussion of cutting welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing and illegals' subsidies? These are GIVEN to those who have never contributed to them. Social Security and Medicare have been paid for by most of the recipients. The dems need these programs to be stock-piled full of revenue to support their voter base. There is a fundamental problem with that.

So Obama's government was shut down for 26 days, and no one in my family wanted for anything. That is because the government does nothing for my family, but beg for money to buy votes.

financial responsibility is there in saying we won't pay for our wars and the bush tax cuts? Or the teabaggers shutting down the government to the tune of $24 billion?

Yes, mistakes, but why destroy the world economy and our standing in the world?

but sad
How disappointed will you be when Obama leaves office, proving he had absolutely no intention of some kind of Socialist takeover ?
WIll you be really sad when your psychotic dream - with NO basis in observable reality - how sad will you be when it does not come true?

<quoted text>Ted f-ing Cruz !! Are you kidding me ? Anytime his name is used in a post, the point trying to be made instantly loses any credibility.
I do hope Republicans get behind him. He will insure that the Republican Party will continue it's slide into irrelevance.
In another year or two, he'll be making the rounds with Bachman, Palin, and Coulter.
He already has been sharing the stage with them.

The best thing about this new breed of "conservatives" is that they are self-sabotaging idiots. It's only a matter of time before they fizzle themselves out. Most of the Republican Party is trying to put distance between themselves and Cruz, etc

If the Republicans had some real integrity, they would just own up to what wackos Crus and the like are, and disown them now. The Republicans are probably going to lose the House, and the next presidential race at this rate anyway, so they may as well own up and gain some long term integrity and and self-respect. Voters would respect them for that.

Ted Cruz is saying what millions of Americans are thinking, but afraid to say out loud lest they be called hateful names by the minorities. I don't mind the names, because I understand that is all they know. They cannot defend President Obama what ever he decides to do so they try to demean his opposition. This morning he made excuse, after excuse for his failed medical website. It will still be a problem going into the 2014 election cycle, because he hired the same company to fix our cyber mess that Canada fired after they failed to fix their cyber mess in 3 years.
