Why is our Supreme Court even thinking about this? Don't they have better things to do than decide who marries who? Let's take a few steps back in history. Why did the Pilgrims leave England?

That statement makes no sense.

Not so they can marry the same sex, that's for sure...

Hopefully because the Supreme Court will call the so-called "gay rights" activists out on trying to manipulate the courts to get what they want and so they can put a stop to the manipulation of the courts. The courts don't have the power to make laws so crying to them in the first place is pointless.

The fact of the matter is that the DOMA law is going to be going away. It will be a 6 to 5 or 5 to 4 when this case comes before the court this next term. It's true because you seen 3 states on election night that granted SSC the right to marry by popular vote in all 3 states.

To be hones...I don't think they will rule in your favor. History and tradition are too strong to advocate for such a radical change in what marriage is...

I think that the Court is going to find a happy medium. I do think as most people whom have studied in this area think that the DOMA law will be ruled as unconstitutional. The federal government has no right to deny the rights to one group of people.

I think that you are going to see when the Court takes up this case next year you are going to see as lower Courts have stated over the last few years that DOMA is unconstitutional. The federal government cant grant rights to heterosexual married couples and deny the same rights to the LGBT couples. I as well as others who have studied in this field think that the Court will be a 6 to 3 or 5 to 4 when it comes to the DOMA case. It will set the stage for the 2014 election cycle and the Republican party better be ready to get on board with this. I have seen the numbers as well as many in the party who on election night seen that 76 percent of the LGBT vote went for the President. I know it sounds like it can't really amount to much but the LGBT make up about 5 percent of the population in the U.S. I think that the Republican party seen on election night this could have been a game changer in this election had they had different view. It is a fact that they want to try to pander to the Latino vote in the next election cycle however a majority of the Latino population view the SSM in favor of just like the majority of the population in the United States. This is not going to slow anytime soon if the Republican party wish to still be they better get on board with what the majority of the American people favor.

Yeah well you tell me how that taste in June next year when they rule that DOMA is unconstitutional. I may jump back here to ask how it taste because I as well as other whom have studied this can almost bet that it will be a 6-3 or a 5-4 vote for the fact that it is unconstitutional. You can't have one set of rules for some and a different set of rules for others that is the job of the Supreme Court.

Well one thing I can tell you...when DOMA is upheld by the SCOTUS, I will not gloat. I know a lot of people will hurt after finding this out, so I will Pray to GOD to help them understand HIS Will and relieve their pain....

Its a total joke that you are one of the nuts on the far left I mean as far as you can go to say that the federal government should have 2 classes of citizens. I can almost bet that when the case in decided in the Summer next year it will be in favor to remove this law. It will be a 6-3 5-4 vote. You can almost bet on that I cant wait to hear what the Republican party is going to come up with in the 2014.

Did you really fall and hit your head or were you maybe dropped on your head as a child. I am saying that the same rights that Heterosexual couples enjoy that are married by the states as well as the federal government. I am saying that you cant have 2 classes of Citizens. The Heterosexual and the Homosexual and expect them to live by different rules. I have already stated a number of times when the Court hears this case and makes the choice on weather or not to leave DOMA in place its just not going to happen. This law is very out dated and not in line with what the majority of the American population wants. I think that was something that was shown to the Republican party on election night when 3 states passed SSM laws in states by the popular vote. If I have to take a guess the court is going to be a 6-3 or a 5-4 when it comes to weather DOMA is unconstitutional as lower courts have said.

This is what we are talking about the DOMA law was written for that reason. It was put in place so that states as well as the federal government could deny laws that Heterosexual married couples enjoy. IE failing a joint tax return, hospital visitation as well as about 1000 others. This law was a poor choice when it was signed into law because the Republican party was really the reason it passed. If you look at the majority of the population in the U.S. you will see that they support the rights of same sex families. You seen this on election night when 3 states by popular vote game them the same rights that they themselves have.

When the law is ruled unconstitutional in June as I know any many other people have stated that have studied in this field this law is outdated and should have never become law in the first place. It will be a 5-4 or 6-3 vote when the ruling is made in June.
