I wonder what President Obama would do if Russia decided to invade Alaska ?

...he'd probably wait for Canada to do something first and then follow their lead.

He'd welcome them, block any attempts by the people of Alaska to deport or show bias against them.
Then, he'd give them free healthcare, food, housing and the right to vote.
Haven't you been paying attention?

We have chaos going on all around the globe, all while Obama and his democrat's are planning on gutting the US Military.

Obama has already decreased the US Naval Fleet, gutted NASA, and now wants to reduce Army Troop levels to the lowest since 1940. This is insanity.

Wake up, you have effective UAVs today. You don't need so many troops.

Remember the drone that was hacked by the Iranians ? UAV's are effective but we cannot put too many eggs in one basket.

Obviously the point flew right over your head. And that point is that technology cannot replace boots on the ground. No matter what, you will always need troops on the ground in war.
The US hasn't won a war since WWII because we haven't declared a war on anybody since WWII. I will say that we were pretty successful in Desert Storm and kicked Saddam the hell out of Kuwait.
We won WW because of technology. It only took 2 bombs, 1 on Nagasaki and 1 on Hiroshima, remember?

Does Russia have a base there?
They have bases to protect in Ukraine and Syria.

Do you think the US has a right to protect our own overseas bases?? Or do you believe in double standards?

Well, I just watched Stephen Cohen on Fareed Zakari GPS on CNN, and he says that Putin is by far the most permissive and reasonable leader Russia has had in a century. He's basically like Jesus Meek and Mild. Furthermore, any group of erudite constitutional scholars, when presented with how the government in Kiev was overthrown, would unanimously agree that they did so in an illegitimate way, In other words, they'd unanimously agree with Moscow. That line of thinking, if adopted by the US media, would mean that Obama can say little and do less and we'll all just accept that he's done his best--I don't buy it.

This is far more than just Russia protecting a military base. I suspect you voted for Obama, am I right ?

Yes, but we still should not put all of our eggs in one basket. We need a diversity of weapons systems. Gutting NASA was a huge mistake, we've lost allot of our best and brightest engineers and scientist. We also need to keep our seasoned Military Personnel, we cannot afford to loose their experience.

We lost a lot of those engineers and scientists when the cold war ended! They're very good at math so they all went to Wall Street and came up with wonderful ideas like derivatives. That turned out well.

Was that suppose to be funny ?

Do you believe the cold war every REALLY ended ? Or did it just fade off the radar for awhile until they could find away to regroup ?
