If we really wanted to put or shut up then we'd have the FBI re open Kavanaugh's nomination background check. After all, if he was found not to have lied about not even being at the party she's talking about in the first place, and if no more corroborating evidence were found to bolster her claims against him, then he might be able to sue her and thus _really_ clear his good (or bad) name.

Both Grassley and Feinstein are 85 years old. The tradition of our political arrangement has been confusion among Republicans versus unity of purpose with the Democrats. Consequently even when Republicans control committees the result is impotence with all of the philosophical posturing. The agenda of the individual is more important than the function to serve a constituency who again may be either voters or may be donors. Republicans always have 2 masters. Democrats will snap to attention at their leader's command. So the Pit Bull cowers when the Chihuahua barks. Paul Ryan's exit will correct many problems then in 2020 it's Ditch Mitch.

not to worry she will be coached and maybe under hypnosis to get the story those who hate the idea of a constitutional justice without a leftwing dirty agenda being placed.

thing is the right does not have to play the game, they could confirm and tell the dems to pound sand as the dems would do if they could

if she is caught lying she deserved to be sued and go to prison.

The first accuser or the second?

Kavanaugh has now made several specific statements about these two alleged incidents which could be disprovable. The Republicans _really_ won't want the FBI sniffing around this now.

Also, there's a list of "constitutional" prospects for the high court. There ought to be no reason to stick with another implicated one in the wake of Uncle Clarence.("Constitutional " meaning nothing other than "I approve of his stand on social issues.")

This second woman's claims are highly questionable. Her claim of a bunch of young men waving a fake penis around sounds more like the fantasies gone astray of a drug fueled lesbian klatch in which this woman may have participated. The continued connection with the continuously debunked claims of a lawyer for pornography proponents and actresses also implies imaginations derived from those damaging fantasies.

Newswomen who get shot yet, never bleed... alleged rape victims who don't say a word about it, until over a third of a century later... what could possibly be next?
