yes, it's a fine example of out-of-control unregulated capitalism moving jobs out of town and pissing on the remains..you couldn't find a better one

The GOP-controlled Congress is the sick joke.

Silly argument.
If the jobs move, so should the workers. Mexicans figured it out. How come we can't?

Good point Joe. No reason to bust your ass working, trying to get ahead, chasing the dream that doesn't exist. Might as well sit back, get to know the social workers. and let somebody else bust their ass and you can take a little of what they make.

Yes it is.

We should all move to Mexico, China, India, Singapore, Etc.

That's where teabaggers sent our jobs.

Can't wait to make the 3rd world dream come true.

As teabaggers can't wait to turn America into a 3rd word country.

When a nation has millions of unemployed and underemployed college educated citizens, fault doesn't lay with the individual, fault lays with an unfair economic system out of control.
Regrading your advice about getting a second job or pursuing further education. 1. Many low-income workers have no control over their schedule. One week your could work 30 hours, the next week 10 hours. It's not fair that some employer has that much power over your life. 2. Even if you find the time to attend school, it costs money. It's hard enough living on a poverty wage in addition to paying tuition.
The only way to overcome these obstacles is to vote for pro-labor politicians and organize your workplace. Power between workers and employers should be shared. My boss doesn't have absolute dictatorial powers over me and my colleagues. We are protected by the UN Declaration of Human Rights.
Keep your hand out loser and see how that works for you. I will be looking for you on the corner with your tin cup out stretched. And will laugh while passing as your victim mentality will be your undoing.

Keep making excuses for your failures though ...

Only for the dimwits in this country too lazy and unmotivated to take responsibility for their lives and actions. I have to doubt your claims of a college education.

Joe appears to be one of the 47% in the country who is angry that they haven't gotten what they believe is their fair share of the wealth earn by another.

Poor Joe ... didn't learn in college (yeah right)that you have to earn what you get in life,... you can't extort it from your betters.

Upward mobility for the poor and middle-class is dead. You can show up on time everyday, do your job and go the extra mile at any retail, fast food, pink collar job for 10 years straight and still make a poverty wage. But the CEO always gets a 50% raise and the shareholders keep demanding immediate and bigger profits. Workers are nothing but low-wage expendable parts.

Yes, I'm part of the 47%. Throughout my life I have received federally subsidized student grants and loans, unemployment compensation, food stamps, EITC, qualified for income-based student loan repayments. Your criticism of the 47% casts a wide net. What federal and state programs do you benefit from or have benefited from in the past?

I have never received aid from the government, that's what being a responsible, contributing citizen is all about. Something that you apparently know nothing of.

Your pride in being a mooch off of the taxpayers in this country is not surprising, and explains why you have a college education (you claim anyway) yet are working for poverty wages.

Obviously even prospective employers can see you are worth little.

Fast food is an entry level position and not meant to be a permanent employment solution. Those who think that it is or attempt to raise a family on this type of employment get what they deserve. They can thank the government for the warning labels which effectively short circuited natural selection and saved their lives.

Yeah, no kidding... But fast-food and other low-paying jobs are the only jobs being created by the private sector. And when you have a low-wage job, you have no buying power which means the economy will continue to sputter. Hence the need for serious federal investment to create living-wage / salary jobs. Congress reintroducing and passing the Employee Free Choice Act would also help. An organized workplace has the power to fight for living wages and benefits, ensuring that profit is shared equally.

No .... just a real college degree coupled with the drive and motivation to make it work for me.
